We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of the Section 38 highway adoption for Redrow’s Lawsons Rise development in Whalley. Taking on this project earlier this year, we’ve navigated it through the summer months, overcoming the complexities that often accompany adoption schemes. Our 20+ years of experience in housebuilding and technical expertise made a real difference in delivering this project smoothly and effectively. Our collaboration with LCC Highways was crucial—successful adoption work is always a partnership effort, and this project was no exception. At GJB Consult, we’ve spent the past five years securing drainage and highway adoptions for housing developers. We handle every step, liaising with regulatory authorities and working closely with subcontractors to ensure that sites meet adoptable standards. If you’re looking for support with your adoptions process, we’re here to help! From managing closed site liabilities and identifying priority schemes to working toward early bond releases and providing as-built surveys to local authority and water company standards—we’ve got you covered. Interested in how we can help you streamline adoptions and reduce bond liabilities? Drop us a message, and let’s discuss how we can add value to your projects. #GJBConsult #HighwayAdoption #HousingDevelopment #Section38 #LawsonsRise #AdoptionProcess #Housebuilding #Collaboration #CivilEngineering

The three counties aim to revolutionise the highways sector and maintenance activities by utilising the Doughnut model as a guiding framework to develop a comprehensive assessment tool - the Highways Doughnut Toolkit. This will be used to evaluate both strategies, policies and maintenance projects on the ground. Aligned with the principles of Doughnut Economics, the counties have collaboratively envisioned an ideal future state for the sector. By applying the Highways Doughnut Toolkit, they can determine whether their current policies and targets are aligned with achieving this desired state. Concurrently, they evaluate their ongoing and planned projects to ensure they are fostering positive social and ecological outcomes. After a year of intensive design processes, involving various stakeholders and experts from within and beyond the sector, the first version of the tool is now ready to be applied to real-life maintenance projects. See a sneak peak of the Highways Doughnut Toolkit and stay tuned as we plan to share full toolkit and our learning as we trail it alongside our highways services. https://lnkd.in/eWvUB_Ej #LiveLabs Cornwall Council Hampshire County Council Somerset Council #CircularEconomy #ADEPTLiveLabs #DfT #DepartmentforTransport ADEPT

With urbanization and population growth, roads are becoming increasingly bustling with pedestrian, cyclist, and construction vehicle traffic. This surge brings with it a heightened risk for all involved. Without proper safety measures, the consequences might be and are in some situations tragic and devastating. Just this week, Health and Safety Authority released two press releases on companies facing hefty fines following tragic incidents at their worksites. These incidents resulted in the loss of lives due to failures in ensuring safe traffic rules, adequate lighting, and proper segregation of people and machinery. That's where CLOCS steps in. CLOCS is about working together to keep roads safe. The goal is to team up with construction companies and the public to tackle the dangers of busier streets.
