There are many articles on Agentic AI as the top trend for 2025. As companies continue to lean in with new and create AI applications, Agentic AI might disrupt the >80% plus of AI initiatives that have failed to deliver measurable ROI. With curious optimism and skepticism, I am excited to see how this AI advancement impacts the customer experience and business acceleration.

I’ve been thinking about agentic AI in light of greater-Taylorism… digital transformation allowed us to think about incrementally changing human effort by automating work, but agents have the ability to changing the need for a human, which dimensionalizes the work that Fredrick Taylor studied 100 years ago. (Doesn’t mean there’s no human, but the need for the human changes.) /// What Is Agentic AI, and How Will It Change Work?

Move over, generative AI. There's a new AI in town, and it's ready to roll up its sleeves and get to work. Agentic AI is like a personal assistant that can do things for you, while normal generative AI is like a helpful tool. Generative AI excels at creating things: writing stories, composing music, generating images. It's passive; you give it a prompt, it gives you an output. Agentic AI takes action: It can send emails, schedule meetings, book flights, or even conduct research. It's active and goal-oriented, working towards a desired outcome. Think of it this way: Generative AI: You ask it to write a poem about a cat. It gives you a poem. Agentic AI: You ask it to plan a birthday party. It sends out invitations, orders a cake, and books a venue. Agentic AI goes beyond simply generating content; it takes actions in the real world to achieve specific goals. Drowning in Work? LLMs are evolving into LLAs – taking action, not just generating text. This means they can automate workflows, analyze data, and even make decisions based on your preferences. The Future of Work: We're moving from software as a service to services driven by software. Soon, we'll be "hiring" AI agents with specific skills and expertise, just like we hire human employees. The Rise of the AI Orchestrator: Microsoft's co-pilot is set to become the conductor of this AI orchestra, coordinating the actions of various agents and ensuring they work together seamlessly. What is Agentic AI? I got asked this question the other day, well think about Agentic AI as an end-to-end AI. An AI that doesn't just respond to you but sorts the issue on its own through multiple steps and without human interaction. Let me explain more, think customer service for an internet company. An agentic AI could diagnose a connectivity issue, offer solutions, and schedule a technician seamlessly.
