World Patient Safety Day 2024: Celebrating our Commitment to Safer Healthcare. In May 2019, at the 72nd World Health Assembly, 194 countries committed to recognising patient safety as a health priority and taking steps to improve and ensure patient safety around the world. Here, World Patient Safety Day was declared. At Cisiv Ltd, we believe that every patient deserves the highest standard of safety in their healthcare journey. The patient always comes first, that’s why we have been helping advance patient-centric research for over 15 years with our real-world evidence solutions. These solutions are designed to place patients at the centre of research and by collecting and analysing data that comes directly from patient experiences, we can help improve treatment outcomes and safety standards for various medical products and technologies that are used by patients. Our one of kind technology is used globally to support data collection and management for observational studies, by healthcare professionals to make informed, data-driven decisions that prioritise patient well-being. So, as we observe World Patient Safety Day, we are reminded of our commitment to ensure the highest standards of safety for patients. Together, let's continue to protect patient safety, today and every day. 🌟 Get ready to be #inspired at the 2024 Patient Safety Conference! 🌟 We are honoured to announce William Monaghan as the #keynote speaker, setting the tone for this year’s conference. He will deliver the lecture on our conference theme, “Enhancing Patient Safety through Digital Innovation: The Missing Links.” In William’s words: “Digitising healthcare processes allows for unprecedented tracking and analysis of clinical interventions. Unlike traditional paper-based methods, digital systems can provide real-time data on patient outcomes, medication administration, and adherence to clinical guidelines. This wealth of information creates a robust platform for safety improvements. However, the potential of digital systems to enhance safety can only be realised if these systems are user-friendly and efficiently integrated into clinical workflows. Unfortunately, many health systems, particularly in Europe and beyond, have adopted systems with poor user interfaces and complex navigation. These systems, while theoretically capable of improving safety, can actually introduce new risks through user frustration and error. Achieving the right balance between digital innovation and clinical safety requires a thoughtful, user-centred approach.” 🗓️Join us in Madrid on 8 November 2024 to hear more from William and #connect with leading organisations and experts from across Europe who are dedicated to advancing patient safety and #qualityofcare. 🔗 Register now: https://lnkd.in/dhGYUnkA 🔎 Read more about William’s journey: https://lnkd.in/esyHDNZn #EUPSC2024 #PatientSafety #DigitalInnovation #Conference #Madrid #Healthcare

PATIENT SAFETY IN THE SPOTLIGHT It's World Patient Safety Day today as designated by the World Health Organization. This year the theme is “Improving diagnosis for patient safety” with the slogan “Get it right, make it safe!”, highlighting the critical importance of correct and timely diagnosis in ensuring patient safety and improving health outcomes. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gEmXAhKf Human factors can play a crucial part in improving patient safety, from patient flow and management in A&E to surgical safety checklists to medication labelling. But none of these are studied in isolation, as the key to successful human factors solutions is a systems approach. This means understanding the wider performance influencing factors in any given scenario, for example, taking into account the individuals and teams, equipment and technology, tasks and processes, and places and organisations involved. Our white paper, Human Factors in Health & Social Care, explores what's needed to develop and embed sustainable system-level improvements. Thx to European Patient Safety Foundation (EUPSF) conference last week in Madrid. "Thrilled to have participated in a truly insightful event on the future of healthcare and the role of digital innovation in improving patient safety and outcomes. 🌍💡 Despite rapid advancements, many breakthrough solutions face challenges when it comes to translating potential into practice. We dove deep into what’s holding us back—exploring the ‘missing links’ that prevent innovative technology from delivering real, measurable improvements for patients. One key focus was how we can support and engage and motivate healthcare professionals, who are already stretched by staff shortages and fatigue, to adopt and integrate new technologies that could reshape their work and ultimately, patient care. Always enjoy coming back to Madrid. This city just has a very special vibe. Wonderful Keynote Lecture from William Monaghan Thank you to Mirka Cikkelova for creating a space to address these critical issues and for bringing together a diverse group of experts and leaders in healthcare. Here’s to driving meaningful change for a safer, more efficient healthcare future! #HealthcareInnovation #PatientSafety #DigitalHealth #FutureOfMedicine #HealthcareLeadership"

🟠 Today is World Patient Safety Day 🟠 World Patient Safety Day is a powerful reminder of the need for global solidarity and collective action to prioritize patient safety across all countries. It unites patients, families, caregivers, communities, health workers, healthcare leaders, and policymakers to commit to making care safer for all. The World Health Organization highlights this by recognizing patient safety as a global health priority and establishing World Patient Safety Day, observed every year on 17 September. As I reflect on my journey, I found some photos from the Patient Safety Awards we celebrated in the UK back in 2018. Patient safety has been my mission for many years—and it's one I remain passionate about. 💛 At QUMEA, we place patient safety at the forefront of everything we do. With our system, we empower healthcare professionals to proactively manage risks and improve outcomes—for everyone's peace of mind. Together, we can make care safer. 💡 #PatientSafety #WorldPatientSafetyDay #HealthcareInnovation

The Biden administration’s unveiling of new multi-agency patient safety programs is a critical step toward protecting patients across the healthcare system. By fostering collaboration between agencies, this initiative aims to reduce medical errors, improve care delivery, and ensure patient well-being. Every action taken to enhance safety measures brings us closer to a healthcare environment where patient outcomes are prioritized, and risks are minimized. Hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) remain a significant patient safety challenge, often driven by improperly cleaned hospital equipment, including mattresses. In fact, recent safety advisories emphasize the need for improved mattress reprocessing to mitigate infection risks. Trinity Guardion’s innovative FDA 510(k) cleared mattress barriers offer a proven solution, helping hospitals ensure that mattresses remain clean and safe for each patient. By implementing such technology, healthcare facilities can align with the administration’s patient safety goals, reduce HAIs, and enhance the overall patient experience.
