Luxury and Controversy: Brisbane's Casino Precinct Unveiled After nearly a decade in the making, Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf precinct, valued at $3.6 billion, has officially opened its doors. Designed by Cottee Parker Architects, this mixed-use development features four distinct towers connected by a sky deck 30 storeys above ground level, offering panoramic views of the Brisbane River, CBD, and Mt Coot-tha. The precinct includes the Brisbane Star casino, multiple hotels, retail spaces, an event centre, public art gallery, and a range of dining options. A standout feature is the new Neville Bonner Bridge, designed by Grimshaw Architects, which connects Southbank to Queen’s Wharf, enhancing access to the riverfront and surrounding areas. The bridge, named after the first Indigenous Australian in Parliament, adds both historical significance and practicality to the precinct. The development has faced its share of controversy, particularly regarding the demolition of the Neville Bonner Building, a significant architectural site. Despite the backlash, Economic Development Queensland approved the project in 2018, and it’s now expected to attract an additional 1.4 million visitors to Queensland annually, according to The StarBrisbane CEO, Daniel Finch. Thrilled to see One Wall Street gaining attention in the London market! It's always exciting to see global interest in the transformation of this iconic building. As always the engagement can be as telling as the article itself and a few of the commenters have called out one of our most unique amenities – the Canine Club – and I'd love to share how it became part of something much bigger: The One Club. The One Club concept was created by the marketing team with a vision to go beyond typical luxury amenities and offer a fully integrated experience. The goal was to connect all the building’s amenities into a cohesive, lifestyle-driven ecosystem. Working closely with our lifestyle team, we reimagined each space to be part of a larger, engaging community for our residents. The Canine Club is a perfect example of this integration. Originally, it was just a simple dog-washing room in the basement. But we knew that for a building like One Wall Street – promising the best in luxury living – ordinary wasn’t enough. So, we transformed it into a full-service pet spa where dogs are pampered, and owners can relax in a beautiful space designed for interaction. But we didn’t stop at just a physical upgrade. We introduced a series of pet-focused events and lectures, bringing the community together. Through The One Club's co-working studio, we’ve hosted talks on pet behavior, wellness, nutrition and even reiki massage, with experts curated by our consultant Hound Honey. Events like Yappy Hour (complete with dog ice cream) and pet sketch sessions, along with group nature walks, have been a hit with residents. The Canine Club isn’t just an amenity – it’s a part of a larger community where residents, united by a love for their pets, come together to share experiences and build connections.
