Having grown significantly since their 30th anniversary last year, AIME came back in full force hoping to deliver the same success once again. When probed about the expansion, AIME Event Director Silke Calder, noted that “Retaining quality will always be the priority. We were very selective this year and turned down a lot of buyers as we have to be to retain that calibre. As for new initiatives, we have only introduced new tech if it made sense for the show - we’re not trend-hopping. Everyone loves a good magic show! But did you know that the average person only sees one magician live and in person in their lifetime? That means when you bring a magician into your event or trade show, you're literally giving your guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience! But it's not enough to book a magician. There is a stereotype out there of magicians being cringy, socially awkward people doing magic tricks that came from a Walmart magic kit. And although this is clearly not the case with most magicians working professionally today, it can still be awkward to book the wrong type of magician for your event. Here is a quick list of different fields a magician can specialize in: ⭐Corporate entertainment ⭐Trade Shows ⭐Children's shows ⭐School shows ⭐College shows ⭐Bar/Bat Mitzvahs ⭐Zoom/Virtual shows When booking for your event, keep an eye out for magicians who specialize in that event! Some of the best magicians I know specialize in children's entertainment and would fall flat at a corporate cocktail party. Similarly, someone who rocks at sales meetings wouldn't be able to keep an elementary school entertained. You're giving your guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience! After serving as the Emcee for 1,000+ events, I’ve learned three things that can help make your event extraordinary: ✨ PLACE: Where you meet matters Is the location a "draw" that will make attendees feel excited to be there? 🎯 PURPOSE: Why you gather matters Will your audience experience a new shared conviction that resonates beyond the event? 👥 PEOPLE: Who you spotlight matters Are your presenters going to inspire? Extraordinary events are not (primarily) about the food, decor, music, or "swag." Meetings that make an impact focus on the place, the purpose, and the people.

It was bad times Oct 2023 ↳Co working space {80 cap} ↳Speakers, venues & caterers said no (no track record) ↳Sponsors refused to sponsor ❌ “No thanks” ❌“If we get involved we will be sending wrong message” ❌“Our founder is not Black or ethnic this is not for us” 🙄 "Going to have to charge you more Mr Mordi" {masked as a "cleanup fee" as soon as I told them it was a Black event} April 2024 ↳Coworking space {80 cap} ↳Gradually started to secure sponsorship from various means ↳Very limited exhibition space {3 spaces} Oct 24 Halifax, flagship London ↳100+ attendees ↳10+ exhibitors ↳Event attended by Selfridges, Waitrose, Co-op, Ocado ↳x6 producers pitching live to supermarket buyers To say we’ve come a long way is an understatement.
