Every startup is risky and more likely to fail than succeed - even if you are among the best ones. I just realized that I didn't know you Santosh Mehta before and I would like to highlight importance to be in contact with cities' startup softlanding services ping Juha Hiltunen & team. Let's figure out if we could help somehow from Riihimäki.

Thank you so much for sharing my story and highlighting these important issues. It means a lot to me, and together we can work towards making a positive change. While my situation may seem unique, the issues of lacking a residence permit or having only a short-term permit with long processing times can lead to the shutdown of startups. Investors also lose confidence without a valid permit. Yesterday, an article about my situation was published on Helsingin Sanomat. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has shared it and brought attention to these issues. Your support ensures that the authorities see my story and make the necessary changes to prevent others from facing similar problems. I’ve been struggling with this issue for over 2.5 years. Since February 2022, I’ve been without a residence permit, and the processing time has been lengthy. Previously, even after my graduation here in Finland, permits were granted for only two years, with an approximate one-year processing time. When it was received, the remaining period was just one year for the next renewal, creating a cycle of uncertainty. Without a valid permit, I couldn’t secure funding or hire a team, leading to layoffs and difficulties in production. Despite these challenges, I managed to keep the business running on sales alone, but it was incredibly stressful. By the end of last year, my startup went into bankruptcy, resulting in losses for everyone involved—our partners, investors, and those who believed in and trusted us. The lack of a permit also prevented me from traveling or attending events to connect with potential partners, customers, or investors, which severely impacted my startup's growth and exposure. This situation affected both my personal freedom and my startup's potential. I’m thankful to Helsingin Sanomat for publishing my story and to everyone who has shared the article. Your support helps make this issue more visible to the authorities. I hope for positive changes so that we can build a better future and prevent others from experiencing similar difficulties. Thank you again for sharing my story on LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. Your efforts really make a difference. Let’s hope for a better outcome. Making my small mark in building better startup ecosystem in west coast of Finland. Tervatynnyri pitching competition was kick started in the midst of Covid-19 but survived and going strong. I had a dream of bustling startup environment to be built in the area and seems like some success have been created already. Most important was and is that good ideas and businesses would get the support they need for creating success. Tervatynnyri go go - already 4 years and counting! Great ideas and businesses apply now! #startupecosystem #pitchingcompetition #tervatynnyri #supportforgreatideasandbusinesses

A World Class Startup Nation: Top 5 Key Takeaways from DI - Dansk Industri Meeting Today It’s great to see our government focusing on developing the Danish Startup Ecosystem. This is a crucial step to help Denmark and the EU create a top-tier entrepreneurial platform, enabling companies to offer innovative and competitive solutions globally. This is essential to prevent us from becoming a region of technology consumers rather than creators, matching the capabilities of the US and China. Today, with Lars Sandahl Sørensen in front, DI - Dansk Industri hosted a meeting with Marie Bjerre, Minister of Digitalisation and Diversity, and Morten Bødskov, Minister of Business. They shared the latest initiatives to support Danish startups. Here are my top 5 takeaways: 1. Empowering Diverse Entrepreneurs: Only 1% of startup funding goes to women-led businesses. Denmark and the EU must improve this by attracting diverse talent in general with better role models and flexible parental leave policies. 2. Easier Access to Capital: Securing funding should be more straightforward. Using private pension funds for startup investments and fairer tax laws can boost our entrepreneurial landscape. Also, it should be easier for startups with great ideas and products to get help from Danish banks and advisors to find funding that enables them to realise their potential. 3. Strengthening Support Structures: Denmark should enhance its equity culture and make capital more accessible. Encouraging risk-taking and providing startup capital is crucial for global competitiveness and reducing reliance on foreign technology. 4. Boosting Digital and Green Ventures: We need more IT specialists and green venture capital. While Denmark excels in AI, our workforce digitalization lags. Attracting young and foreign talent is essential to maintain the EU’s edge. 5. Creating Supportive Regulations: It is vital to develop fair regulations that support Danish and EU companies, not hinder them. Supporting IPOs, reducing taxes on startups, and simplifying complex rules will help our startups grow and compete globally. It will also level the playing field with other regions and protect our society and citizens, when done well. These key insights highlight the importance of making Denmark a key player in the EU’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Your support is essential for implementing these strategies and helping Denmark compete globally. Let's now make it happen! #StartupEcosystem #DanishInnovation #EUCompetitiveness #Entrepreneurship #TechStartups
