An electrician came out to my house to fix the switch on my new stove top. When he'd finished how did he want paying? Either cash or bank transfer please. Cash I can understand. Leave the job and hope I paid the right bank account, that's not clever. How many invoices go unpaid I asked him, '2-3 per week.' And do you chase those payments up, 'no, I just don't have time - It's the same for other people I know.' Anyone working in the field who doesn't have an accounts receivable team behind them is likely not collecting all that's due to them. It's weird when you think people want paying by cash, so they can avoid the costly tax but aren't willing to chase payments that have been missed because it 'costs' them too much. Well, that can stop today. Calling all field workers, construction works, electricians, plumbers, window cleaners... Get a free payment link from me and you'll never miss another payment again. The tax part is up to you. #payments #paymentlinks #invoicing #accountsreceivable

🔨 Understanding the Difference: Licensed General Contractor vs. Simple Tradesman 🔧 In the world of construction and renovation, it’s crucial to understand the distinct roles and responsibilities of a licensed general contractor and a simple tradesman. Whether you're a homeowner planning a project or a professional in the industry, knowing these differences can make a significant impact on the success of your project. Licensed General Contractor: Comprehensive Management: A licensed general contractor oversees the entire construction project, from planning to completion. They coordinate various trades, manage timelines, and ensure that all work meets regulatory standards. Broad Skillset: They possess a wide range of knowledge across multiple trades, allowing them to troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions throughout the project. Licensing and Insurance: General contractors are licensed by state or local authorities, ensuring they meet specific qualifications and adhere to industry standards. They also carry insurance to protect against potential liabilities. Permits and Inspections: They handle all necessary permits and inspections, ensuring your project complies with local building codes and regulations. Project Coordination: General contractors hire and manage subcontractors, schedule work, and ensure that all aspects of the project run smoothly and efficiently. Simple Tradesman: Specialized Skills: A tradesman, such as a plumber, electrician, or carpenter, specializes in a particular field. They bring expert knowledge and skills to their specific trade. Focused Tasks: They are typically hired to perform specific tasks within a project, such as installing wiring, plumbing, or cabinetry. Licensing Varies: Depending on the trade and location, a tradesman may or may not be required to hold a license. Licensing requirements can vary significantly. Direct Work: Tradesmen often work directly under the direction of a general contractor or homeowner, focusing solely on their area of expertise. Limited Project Scope: While highly skilled, tradesmen generally do not manage the overall project. Their role is confined to their specific trade. Choosing the Right Professional: For large-scale projects requiring coordination across multiple trades, hiring a licensed general contractor is essential. For smaller, specialized tasks, a skilled tradesman may be the right choice. Understanding these differences ensures you hire the right professional for your project, leading to better outcomes and peace of mind. #Construction #GeneralContractor #Tradesman #ProjectManagement #HomeImprovement #BuildingExcellence #MainstreamConstruction

The Gap that lead to the Neighbor Glass idea? Ammar worked as a glass technician for a decade before he noticed a gap: handymen only handled small, local jobs, while construction companies focused on large projects. Medium-sized projects and small jobs requiring high levels of skill were left without a solution. Determined to fill this gap, Ammar had the idea of starting Neighbor Glass. We handle projects too small for big construction firms and too complex or distant for handymen. #Entrepreneur #Construction #Handyman #Contracting #RealEstate
