Hi, Trust & Safety network! I’m excited to share a side project I’m working on a Global Job Board for Trust and Safety professionals. Join me! Why am I doing this? During my last period of unemployment, I had a tough time finding new job roles. I had to navigate multiple websites, job aggregators, and job boards. I wasted a lot of time filtering and finding the right opportunities. Often, I encountered expired or filled jobs. Jobs advertised as “remote” were often actually hybrid or location-specific. There is no clear categorisation of our roles, and even the naming differs between organisations, due to the novel nature of our profiles. As a result, I decided to turn this frustration into something potentially useful for our community of professionals. I want to offer a place where you can easily find fresh opportunities that are a good fit for you. Sign up at trustandsafetyjobs.com and follow the page to stay informed about the launch. What do you think? Please share your feedback about this idea (you can DM me, but let’s aim to keep a public conversation going!). This will give me an idea of how many of us have faced similar challenges. Help me reach more people by sharing this post or commenting on it. Your support is massively appreciated! https://lnkd.in/dJRGknRU

I've hired 40+ contractors in the last year. Here are 8 rare traits I see in the great ones: 1. Alignment of words and actions. (This is the trait above them all) 2. They care. A contractor who cares: → Want's to do the work right → The first time, every time 3. Optimism. Find a contractor with optimism... & you've found a contractor for life! 4. Obsessively detailed. Perfectionism welcome. 5. Humility. There is no place for ego on a job site. Humility breeds: → Quality work beyond the first job → Consistent communication → A willingness to adapt 6. Not broke. I had a contractor show me $300 in his bank account. Our written contract didn't matter to him. I had to pay him, or he'd walk. → Because he had to walk! Broke contractors force you into corners. 7. Organized. The uncommon achieve excellence. And the uncommon are organized. 8. Punctual. Residents have expectations. You can't rely on a contractor to show up? Your tenant cannot rely on you. What traits do you look for in contractors?

A few years ago, I headhunted a construction superintendent from a company and placed him with a client. When the individual handed in his notice, he told the company owner that I recruited him for a new opportunity that he couldn’t turn down. Not even a large counteroffer was going to stop him from leaving. The business owner was very upset at me. First, he called and yelled at me for ‘stealing’ his best employee. Then he proceeded to ask me if I knew who he was. Then he sent me a cease-and-desist letter. I did the same thing with that letter as I do all the other cease-and-desist letters I receive. I yell, “Kobe”, as I throw it into the trash. After that, I didn’t hear from him for about a year. Then one day, I got a random call—it was him. His demeanor had completely changed. I asked him what changed and he responded, “I understand recruiting is your business so I thought to myself, if you were able to take my best field supervisor, who better to find a great field supervisor for me? Plus, then you won’t recruit any more of my people!” Smart business move on his account. To a headhunter, you’re either a client or you’re a source. There isn’t a neutral standpoint. Fast forward to today and we have successfully filled 5 roles with this client in the last 10 months. Now, instead of losing people in the midst of a labour shortage, he is securing the best talent for his organization. Win-win. #recruitment

There's something incredibly rewarding about finding the perfect job for someone. It's more than just filling a position – it's about seeing the potential in a candidate and matching them with an opportunity that can transform their career. Being a recruiter means being an advocate. It means fighting for my candidates, ensuring they get the recognition and compensation they deserve. It means understanding their goals and helping them achieve more than they thought possible. The best part? Seeing the impact. Witnessing someone thrive in a new role, knowing I played a part in their success – that's the ultimate reward. To everyone that has put their trust in me to find their right match- thank you! #recruiter #staffing #changinglives #careergoals #advocacy #skilledtrades #maintenance #welding #engineers

If you want to be a hero for more than just one day, and want to understand more about criminal justice, then get in touch and we can discuss how I can support you in that journey.
“We can be heroes just for one day”, this is true. But what if you could be a hero for someone for much longer than just one day... If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I’m passionate about people who have a criminal record being given a fair opportunity to get work, grow, and thrive, and break free from the criminal justice system. However, what I’ve observed and heard is that many employers don’t think that someone who has a criminal record could do the jobs they are advertising, or they are worried about risk to themselves or their staff, and to their reputation. FYI, 92% of employers say that diverse recruitment has enhanced their reputation, helping them with new contracts and business! Here is just a snapshot of the jobs that someone who has a criminal record could do: Strategic lead, Project/ programme manager, Labourer, Warehouse worker, Team leader in a super-market, Accountant, Key worker, Cleaner, Painter and decorator, Carpenter, Electrician, Engagement officer, Chef, Barber, Sales manager, Web designer, communications assistant/ manager, engineer, I could go on… If we genuinely want to see a reduction of reoffending, then all of us need to play a part, and one way we can do this is to change our recruitment process and see people for their skills rather than their past. If you need advice on how to do this, or want to understand more about criminal justice, then get in touch to find out how we can support and empower you. What other jobs do you think that someone who has a criminal record can do? #criminaljusticereform #inclusiveworkforces #inclusivity #equalityanddiversity #equityanddiversity #employment #businessforpurpose #learninganddevelopment
