Biological starting materials have a limited shelf-life as viability declines over time. Cryopreservation extends the stability of these materials. In this process, the type of media formulation, tools and freeze/thawing rates can have a significant impact on post-thaw cell viability and expansion. ChemoMetec highlights the cryopreservation methods, tools and results of an ISCT, International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy Cytotherapy journal article, “The impact of feeding regimen and cell cycle on post-thaw recovery in a human T-cell model.” Read on to review how CryoStor® and ChemoMetec’s NucleoCounter® NC-3000™ tool assisted the scientists in this study.
