💡 What if we told you your soft skills could be the key to an amazing career? Last week, as part of the Holiday Extras HX Gives Back programme, myself and two other brilliant colleagues (Sophie & Jo) had the privilege of speaking to Year 12 students at Turner Academy. Our mission? To inspire them about the world of work and show them how skills they already have – like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication – can unlock incredible opportunities. One of the highlights? Using the Call Centre role as an example. We showed how this role can be a gateway into the HX family, where many of our colleagues have launched their careers. Seeing those lightbulb moments in the students' eyes? Absolutely priceless. ✨ Here’s what made it special: ✔️ Authentic connections: The students asked some brilliant (and tough!) questions. ✔️ Positive impact: Teachers called the session “inspiring” – a real career moment for us! ✔️ Personal growth: Giving back wasn’t just rewarding – it was an opportunity for us to develop new skills too. 🤔 Thinking about volunteering? We are back! 💪 Back from summer camps ⛺ Back from scheduling puzzles (and let’s be honest, some frustrations too!) 🙈 Back from a family trip 🛩 Back to school + daycare 🎒 Back to more structured routines 🗓 It feels both great to be back and, honestly, I miss the sweet summertime already. #bothand As we transition, I’m reflecting on a few things I learned this summer—sharing them here in case they resonate with you too: 🌞 Summer is hard, y'all! Expectations are sky-high, the weather is gorgeous, and my motivation to stay at my desk all day... not so much. 🏌️♀️ I’ve rekindled my love for golf! After more than 10 years away from NCAA, I’m finally finding joy in the sport again. Grateful for this reconnection! While in Stockholm, four generations of my family played golf together - my grandmother (mormor), my mom, me, and two of my daughters. I have to say... we’re all pretty good! ⛳️ 👩👧👦 Summer support is a must. This year, having our nanny made all the difference. Next summer, I’m planning to have support - it was a game-changer. 🔄 Each week of summer is different. When the kids were in camp, my productivity soared. On travel weeks or when I focused on family, my goals shifted. This year, I embraced those changes instead of fighting them, and it made all the difference. How was your summer?
