Join us on October 2nd, the day before Reunification Day, for a discussion on Germany’s federal budget process and transparency! The latest Open Budget Survey (OBS) results show Germany scoring high in budget transparency but low in public participation. Could public scrutiny – e.g. through Federal Citizens’ Assemblies or Citizens' Budgets at the national level – enhance participation, trust and interest in federal budgeting? Or is our current system already sufficient? We’ll explore this and more, including how Germany compares to other countries, and whether additional independent audit oversight is necessary. 🗓️ Date: October 2, 2024 🕒 Time: 15:00 – 16:00 CEST; Location MS Team (see link in additional comment below) Take the chance to join the debate and shape the future of budget transparency in Germany! #Germany #FederalBudget #Bürgerrat #Rechnungshof #Bundeshaushalt #OBSResults #PublicEngagement #Transparency #ReunificationDay
