I want to take a moment to share with my LinkedIn community that I have passed the FE Civil Exam. What a journey it was. Below are the things I learned while preparing for the exam: 1- Grab the concepts before you go down the route of solving problems 2- It is OK if you cannot solve the question within the average time of 2.5 minutes, it will take time in the start 3- Do prepare flashcards if you are someone like me who is not good at remembering stuff And most importantly, please do watch the FE Civil reviews of Mark Mattson, I like how he goes through problem sets and the FE reference handbook (plus funny jokes at the end of the reviews). I loved it all Mark, you are truly a hero. I have also prepared notes for each discipline. Feel free to reach out in case you need to brush up your concepts. #next_stop_PE

upsc cse preliminary exam special I consistently passed the preliminary examination for civil services. I am sharing with you my strategy during this period. * To understand the nature of questions, demand of the exam and make the right strategy, first analyze the previous year's questions. Under this, analysis should be done at many levels like - subject wise, according to the topic under the subject, and how the option is being made etc. At the level of study material, you have to read those basic books which are generally read by everyone like Laxmikant, Spectrum etc. Although many questions come from outside these books, one should avoid reading new books for some uncertain questions. * Focus on revision as much as possible. * Newspaper is the most reliable source for current affairs. Apart from this, you can read the annual compilation of any good magazine. Like - PT 365. * In the last few years, instead of traditional topics, the number of questions of new and uncertain nature has increased. In such a situation, there is a need to focus more on how to solve any question with your elimination technique despite having less information. Many times GS questions can be solved only with the help of your reasoning/common sense. * Buy some test series from the market and try to solve it. In this, your main objective should be to increase the ability of elimination and to identify and remove your weakness.
