Exploring the Fusion of AI and Design: A Motion Poster Experiment I recently explored the creative potential of AI tools to craft a motion poster, and the journey was both innovative and rewarding. Here's how I combined multiple tools to bring the project to life: Krea AI: The starting point for generating visual concepts and experimenting with unique ideas. Krea AI helped shape the initial design inspiration. Photoshop: I used Photoshop to refine and create the layout for the poster, adding the essential design elements and finalizing the static visuals that would form the base for the animation. Luma AI: This is where the static designs took on a dynamic dimension! Luma AI added motion and depth, transforming the flat images into interactive and immersive visuals. After Effects: Finally, I brought everything together. I enhanced the motion effects, added transitions, and polished the design into a seamless motion poster that tells a story. This experiment highlighted the endless possibilities of combining AI tools with traditional design workflows. AI served as a creative partner—helping me ideate, design, and animate in ways that felt intuitive and efficient. I’m not afraid of AI, and you shouldn’t be either. As a graphic designer and an artist, I get asked the question “What do you think of AI?” at least once a month, coupled with a concerning side eye 👀. And I always respond the same way: “It’s the future.” I once heard someone say on an interview that people FREAKED OUT when Photoshop came out in the 90’s. People thought that it was the end of design, and every single design job would fall off the face of the Earth 🌎 . But look at us now: Photoshop is a tool used in everyday life. And that’s how I view AI. It’s a tool to expedite the process of getting from point A to point B 🗺️. I’ve even used MidJourney in one of my own projects! It took only a fraction of the amount of time to make an awesome poster, and I could reallocate that saved time elsewhere. However, MidJourney didn’t spit out a work of art on its own 🤷♀️. It took my creativity, my expertise, and my problem solving to think of the artwork, and it still took hours of tweaking in both MidJourney and Photoshop to make it just right! I used AI as a tool, and that’s all it is 👏. I think we need to stop viewing it as competition, because nothing can replace the creativity and mindfulness of YOU.
