The Cyber Security Breaches Survey serves as a key tool for shaping government policies regarding cybersecurity With a focus on enhancing the security of the UK's digital landscape for businesses. According to the latest survey released by the government on Tuesday, it reveals the % of organisations that have engaged in specific activities aimed at identifying cyber threats over the past year. Notably, deploying security monitoring tools and conducting risk assessments emerge as the most prevalent actions taken by both businesses and charities, although there's a notable difference in the adoption of monitoring tools, with businesses leading the way. #cyberbreachessurvey

The really positive news is that this upward trend is mainly reflective of the efforts of Micro and Small businesses! 🙌. That for me as an advisor and supporter of said businesses in their security and data protection journeys is heartwarming news. The journey to protecting small businesses is not over and neither is our reading. Cyber threats are real, and they're affecting businesses and charities more than ever. Many businesses believe that they're unlikely to be targeted for a cyber attack, but they couldn't be more wrong. In fact, most people I speak to are shocked by how high the numbers are. According to recent studies, half of businesses (50%) and around a third of charities (32%) have reported experiencing cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. (According to GOV.UK) It's not an 'if', it's a 'when'. Pop me a message if you'd like to chat about how you can better protect your business. #cybersecurity #itsecurity #securityconsultant #cybercrime
