💼 As of the 1st of December, the new European Commission has kicked the new political mandate.   Continuing our standing collaborative dialogue, ACEM welcomes the new College of Commissioners. We look forward to continuing our efforts to drive progress through the Motorcycling Manifesto supported by FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), FEMA Europe, and ACEM. Here’s how we aim to make an impact: 🏍️ Road safety: protecting riders as Vulnerable Road Users both in cities and the road network to reach the EU safety goals by 2030; 🍃 Environment and sustainability: developing advanced vehicles to meet the EU climate goals by 2050 enhancing performance and efficiency; 💪 Competitiveness: strengthening the motorcycle industry by creating jobs and contributing to Europe's economic growth; 💡 Research and Innovation: developing cutting-edge technologies for new vehicles and products supporting decarbonisation and safety; 🤝 Leisure and tourism: promoting the social, cultural and sporting value of motorcycling activities for the benefit of the society. Because it's practical❗ This is the answer given by 50% of people who cycle. For 25% of cyclists, their means of transport has the advantage of being "quick", and another quarter believe that it is inexpensive. Just over 20% say they cycle for environmental reasons. So - plenty of reasons to get on your bike! 🚴 And you, do you bike to go to work? To share best practice and examples, we organised a conference linking company sport and eco-responsibility. Today, Stephanie Leonard was appointed TISA's new President at the organisation’s Annual Assembly, held at TomTom’s headquarters in #Amsterdam, the Netherlands. After twelve years at the helm, Thomas Kusche-Knežević, will now leave the role. 💪 Stephanie Leonard: ‘I look forward to building on Thomas' success and making TISA into a dynamic organisation that supports global membership with a range of value-added services facilitating #standardisation and #harmonisation. In this modern world, we need to ensure #trafficandtravelinformation is 100% correct, 100% of the time on all roads. Increasing the quality of traffic data available in National Access Points and helping stakeholders to conduct their quality assessment with the 5-star rating is a critical area where we will all benefit from TISA’s leadership. Another is building the bridge between the automotive world and natural disaster recovery. This expanded scope will give us plenty of work for the next coming years but I’m excited to work with the rest of the TISA team to bring these tangible results to our members and the wider ITS community.’ 🤝 Thomas Kusche-Knežević: ‘I feel honoured to have steered TISA for the last twelve years. Since TISA’s inception in 2007, the priority has always been the safety of travel through the creation of an international framework for the development of travel information standards and services. TISA’s product TPEG is now deployed by many services and received by many millions of devices #worldwide. Success is of course the result of hard work, #cooperation, #partnership and #communication, but it is impossible without the right people. I believe as an organisation we cultivate collegiality, great partnerships and friendship, which is an important factor in our success! I will leave with great memories.
