When you're in the position of caring for an aging loved one, there more often than not, will come a time where you will need to deepen your involvement with their overall health and well being. This is a stage we refer to as "Health Immersion," and can be one of the more challenging, yet critically important, stages to get your arms around. In this post, we talk through the myriad of challenges that one can face when trying to properly advocate for a loved one. A basic understanding of who their healthcare providers are, what medications they're actively on, what conditions are beings treated (both chronic and acute), should be one of your base goals. This particular challenge is what served as our founder's initial inspiration for our platform, the Illuminator, which pulls all of this together from a loved ones medical claims. Having this base understanding of your loved ones health journey will hopefully lead to more confident and empowered advocating. Read about our founder's journey, and learn about some tips navigating this stage: https://lnkd.in/eJ5tWf4h

https://lnkd.in/ehVSaSdg Creating a Therapeutic Healthcare Environment Dr. Sean, author of "Practicing TLC (The Language Choice)," shares a powerful perspective on cultivating therapeutic workspaces in healthcare. While patient experience has traditionally been the primary focus, COVID-19 revealed the critical importance of caring for healthcare providers themselves. The key to a truly therapeutic environment? Approaching colleagues with curiosity, interest, and genuine concern. Simple 30-second conversations in nursing stations or over coffee, celebrating achievements, and showing authentic interest in coworkers' well-being can help "fill each other's cups." By nurturing a supportive workplace culture, healthcare professionals can better maintain their passion for patient care and fulfill their mission of serving their communities. As Dr. Sean reminds us, the overall healthcare experience flourishes when we prioritize both patient and provider well-being. #Healthcare #WorkplaceCulture #WellnessAtWork #HealthcareLeadership #PatientCare

Michael Charlton, CEO of AtlantiCare, makes a point prescient to all #healthcare organizations, particularly hospitals and health systems: “Planning for the future isn’t a choice, it’s a moral obligation to the people we serve. My advice is to stay deeply connected to the core mission of your organization…” Notably, at AtlantiCare, this planning includes a strong focus on workplace and technology – both of which impact patient health outcomes directly and indirectly. Long-term success requires long-term planning. HealthLeaders https://bit.ly/49NkRO0

As doctors.. hearing those three magical words makes it all worth it for us... ..no not THOSE three words.. I'm talking about.. "I TRUST you". When a patient feels safe, heard, and understood, it creates trust that is vital for a productive and effective doctor-patient relationship. It creates a space that encourages patients to be more proactive and accountable with their health and not avoid healthcare interactions until symptoms have gone on for far too long. The bond between a doctor and a patient is not just about medical advice; it’s about creating a partnership rooted in mutual respect and understanding. When trust is established, patients feel more comfortable sharing their concerns, no matter how small or significant. This open communication allows for a more accurate diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, and ultimately, better health outcomes. At our practice, we believe that trust is built through consistent, compassionate care. We take the time to listen, understand your unique health goals, and work together to achieve them. Our proactive approach ensures that you’re not just reacting to health issues, but actively working to optimize your healthspan and longevity. By fostering a trusting relationship, we empower you to take charge of your health with confidence. Let's build this foundation together for a healthier, happier future. In medical communications, we often talk about breaking barriers to better health. But perhaps the biggest barrier men face isn't in accessing healthcare - it's in accessing the courage to seek it. This International Men's Day, let's change the conversation from 'man up' to 'speak up.' Because real strength isn't measured by silence, but by the power to prioritize wellbeing. #medcomms #medcommsimpact #internationalmensday #menshealth

Part of our role in the healthcare industry is making connections between patients and families and healthcare workers. How do we do that? By helping our employees find their why. For Dwight W. McBee, Senior Vice President, Health Equity & Chief Experience Officer at Jefferson Health, his purpose has always been clear, even through challenging moments. “To get people re-engaged we have to go back to the 'why'. It's an old cliche, but it really is one of the most powerful things we can do. The quickest way to get to the 'why' is to talk to our patients and find ways to get our families to meaningfully engage with our workforce." Listen here to learn more about how he entered the field and how he’s pushing his team to be their best every day. 🎧 https://hubs.li/Q02GNxTs0 #momentsmoveus #healthcare #wambi

When building a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing, both marketing and communication are essential. Unfortunately, employers cannot rely on the healthcare delivery system alone to promote healthy lifestyles or full patient engagement. It's time for employers to step up and craft compelling narratives that resonate with employees on a personal level. Imagine motivating your team with visions of dancing at their granddaughter's wedding rather than just reminding them what they need to do to stay healthy.
