🌐 For some, the basic rule in business is innovation—constantly switching things up and creating something new every few years. Others strictly adhere to traditions, sticking to what’s most familiar and rejecting necessary changes as a result. In such a dichotomy, how can we find the intersection between the old and the new in Fair Trade practices? 🌱 🎤 We had the chance to explore this topic in the plenary, “Future-fitting WFTO to Respond Positively to Global Challenges” as part of our 17th International Fair Trade Summit. As Selyna Peiris from Selyn Sri Lanka said, “#Innovation doesn’t mean letting go of what we have, it just means we take what we have and make it better”. What’s important is not abandoning traditions but rather how we #Adapt them to contemporary contexts. 🎤Leida Rijnhout, World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO)'s Chief Executive, remarked on how enterprises can attain this balance while gearing up for future challenges: "We should adapt not only our practices but also our language to fit younger generations”. Studying their way of talking 💬, their values, and their beliefs 💭 are just some ways we can adapt our message while staying true to our roots. Innovation can (and should!) happen to strengthen the core values of Fair Trade. By doing so, enterprises can explore their own relation between the past and future, reassess their value proposition, and create tailored approaches to drive #SustainableDevelopment in the years to come. We should constantly challenge the notion that profit maximisation is the only way a business can function. Preparing ourselves for a generation shift is one way enterprises can position themselves in this ever-changing market. Loyal Ecosystem was delighted to participate in Câmara Municipal de Lisboa Roadshow online PLSE Best Practices Roadshow. Pedro Pires, Managing Partner, spoke about Growth Strategies for Mature Sustainable Markets in Central and Northern Europe. The discussions were rich with practical rules, backed by real business examples from Loyal's decade-long experience in supporting companies with their internationalization strategies. Among the various ideas discussed were three very pragmatic messages that companies should take into account before moving forward: . Define an entry strategy, from a strong entry with all the best assets to a more resilient entry focused on resisting until you succeed.  . Do market research - get to know the markets you're entering.  . When testing the market, don't test in isolation; include at least two complementary markets. At the regional level, the European Innovation Scoreboard places the Hovedstaden region (capital region of Copenhagen and the surrounding area) in Denmark in the lead, followed by Southern Finland, Upper Bavaria, Stockholm, Berlin and Zurich. At country level, Switzerland is ranked first in both the European Innovation Scoreboard and the GII, which is due in part to its efficient administration and the quality and research output of its universities. Switzerland also leads the field in terms of scientific publications produced in cooperation with companies and patent applications in relation to the number of inhabitants. Nevertheless, there is no reason to rejoice. Europe may have a relatively high level of research and a relatively innovative industry. However, if we look at where new companies are emerging that are valued in the billions and are thus becoming so-called unicorns, we are back to the aforementioned dominance of American and increasingly also Chinese tech companies. https://lnkd.in/da6zXQtx

We are proud to announce that HIRO has been selected to participate in an 8-week acceleration program organized by GERMANTECH, with the patronage of ITA - Italian Trade Agency, that will take place in Berlin from March 11 to May 8, 2024. Germantech has the ambitious goal of transforming existing organizations and entire markets, and of creating a positive future for all of us, perfectly alligned with the HIRO's mission. For us, this new experience is a fundamental step, as well as a great recognition. It is a unique opportunity to stenghten our existing connections with the vibrant German innovation ecosystem, and to enhance our international presence outside the Italian borders. Germany is in fact a key state for our sector, and we expect to establish lasting and profitable relationships with our potential customers and partners.
