The patient was initially diagnosed with both ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia. After reviewing #electrocardiograms, a correct diagnosis of #orthodromic #atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia with left-sided accessory pathway was made which was confirmed and successfully ablated in subsequent #electrophysiological study. Not all wide complex tachycardias are #ventricular tachycardia. An Uncommon Occurrence of Tako-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy Diagnosis Determined Through Computed Tomography A young male patient presented to the post-surgical unit with acute heart failure. He was referred for a comprehensive computed tomography (CT) scan of the brain, body, and heart. The CT scan revealed dilatation and extensive akinesis of the apical portion of the left ventricle, without significant stenosis of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) or other coronary arteries. These findings were consistent with Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy, also known as stress cardiomyopathy. The probable psychological trigger for this condition was believed to be the patient's recognition of the visual result of a surgical procedure involving the resection of half of the pelvis ("hemipelvectomy"). The diagnosis of Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy was subsequently confirmed by the restoration of normal systolic function in a few days.
