In today’s climate, as minority rights are increasingly under threat, the need for organizations like iProbono has never been greater. One of our current initiatives is the Child Rights Program in Sri Lanka, where we aim to raise $30,000 to help children remain in loving family environments. Sri Lanka is experiencing a devastating crisis: economic hardships are forcing thousands of families to place their children into institutional care—not because they are orphans, but because their families cannot afford to care for them. In 2019 alone, 92.1% of children placed in care had at least one living parent.
