Despite current challenges, many #cities in #Canada are set to experience strong #GDP and #employment growth in the medium term. In general, the larger metros will outperform their smaller counterparts. #Calgary and #Edmonton will be the fastest growing among Canada’s largest metros, with the oil & gas and retail sectors driving growth. The outlooks for #Vancouver and #Toronto are also strong, thanks to elevated rates of inward migration that will boost the metros’ labour markets and consumer spending. And while #Montreal will see above-average GDP growth, driven by the finance sector, weak job creation in the construction and manufacturing sectors will hold back total employment growth. To learn more about the medium-term prospects for Canada’s metros, read our latest Canadian regional outlook: https://okt.to/Fc4Nzs
