We are taking action to deliver on our commitment to environmental sustainability by partnering with Green Standards to keep unused workplace furniture and equipment out of the landfill while generating positive local community impact. So far, this has resulted in 120 tonnes of material being turned into $57,985 in charitable donations that will directly benefit communities and local institutions in Ontario, including schools and not-for-profit organizations. You can read more about our sustainability objectives and measures in our Impact Report, “Working for good: How we’re making a difference in Ontario.” https://lnkd.in/gnmhktEa

Hands down, my favourite day of the WHOLE YEAR is the one where we sit together as a team and select charities to support. This year, we are proud to support six UK-based charities working to support and restore ecosystems and habitats. Our 1% for the Planet pledge means that we have committed to giving a minimum of 1% of revenue (not profits!) every year to environmental causes around the world. In a world where "doing the right thing" is often considered too inconvenient or too expensive, this is one way that we can give back. Supporting grass-roots charities in this way means so much to the charities, and to us as a company. It's a MUCH better use of money than frittering it away to shareholders or bonuses or corporate away days. What if your company joined ? #giving #environmental #EarthDay
We are proud to support several incredible charities through 1% for the Planet, contributing to positive environmental impact. Join us in supporting organizations like seawilding.org, bumblebeeconservation.org, beavertrust.org, globalgeneration.org.uk, justadrop.org, and healrewilding.org.uk to protect our planet for future generations. Together, let’s make a difference! #earthday2024 #1percentfortheplanet #environmentalimpact #charitysupport #earthday

The acceleration in both impact and the reduction of friction in #climate #philanthropy that Global Returns Project have achieved over the last year is impressive. The robustness of their approach to identifying effective charities is neatly combined with clear, and regular, reporting. They fit well with our offering at Paradigm Norton Financial Planning (especially as a B-Corp). If you've not come across them I'd recommend checking them out. https://lnkd.in/e7T_bp5R

At TreeSisters we use a Trust-based philanthropy model to champion a more equitable and empowering approach, fostering genuine relationships grounded in mutual trust, transparency and collaboration. What is Trust-based philanthropy? "An approach to funding that addresses the inherent power imbalances between funders, nonprofits, and the communities they serve." - Trust-Based Philanthropy Project What does Trust-based philanthropy look like in practice for TreeSisters and our Restoration Partners? PLEASE READ AND PLEDGE, WE RELY ON YOUR SUPPORT IF YOU ARE ABLE 💚 🌳 Like many charities, the last couple of years have been pretty hard for TreeSisters and we’ve seen a very real drop in regular donations. Our annual appeals have always been an essential source of funding but this year the Big Give Christmas Challenge will play an even bigger role. ⌛ We need to raise £15,000 in pledges by the 8th September. If we are successful, we then have a chance of reaching a total of £60,000 when the challenge runs in December. 🌲 Over the last 10 years, we’ve planted more than 28 million trees with 19 partners across 12 countries. And in 2023-24 we encouraged more than 12,000 local and Indigenous community members to participate in the restoration of their lands, with women making up more than 50% of those participating and almost 500 taking leadership roles in the projects. If you would like more information, please see our website - www.treesisters.org and our news and blogs - https://lnkd.in/eYpWjpG2 ✨ Are you able to pledge? The pledges can be any amount from £100 and only need to be pledged by 8th September, they cannot be donated until after the campaign in December. 💚 I love this idea as this means that if you are interested, we could pledge what we could afford and then have the benefit of time to save the money up each week until the end of the campaign in December (10th December 2024). Pledges can be any amount from £100 up to £25,000, if you feel able to pledge send me a DM with "Big Give"
