How Kendrick Lamar’s Surprise Album GNX and Wizkid’s Morayo Can Inspire Social Media Growth I am here with another amazing tip for my mates! Kendrick Lamar has surprised fans with his new album, GNX, while Wizkid recently released Morayo. For social media managers, this is a perfect example of leveraging trending news to engage audiences and grow your platform. Music releases like these spark conversations worldwide, bringing fans together to debate, share, and celebrate. As a social media manager, you can jump into these discussions and connect them to your niche. For instance, if your brand focuses on entertainment, compare Kendrick Lamar’s lyrical depth in GNX with Wizkid’s unique sound in Morayo. Even if your niche is pet niche, compare their dogs, cats and others at this moment! Highlight how both artists inspire their fans differently. Encourage your audience to join the conversation with polls, quizzes, or creative challenges. Ask, "Are you team GNX or Morayo?" This not only boosts engagement but also shows that your brand stays updated on cultural moments. Pitch content that ties into the buzz. If you manage a fashion page, explore the artists' style choices. For a business niche, talk about their marketing strategies. Using trending music news effectively can drive traffic, grow your following, and keep your content fresh. Dive into the hype, add your unique spin, and watch your engagement soar. Remember, genuine conversations over volume. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲𝘀: A picture is worth a thousand streams. Use compelling visuals that tell your story and complement your music. It's not just about the notes but the emotions they evoke. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Plan your content to maintain a consistent presence. A well-thought-out calendar ensures you stay in the spotlight without burning out. Balance promotional content with personal stories for a blend that keeps fans coming back. Yesterday, an A&R told me that Instagram Reels and TikToks are the best indicators of how well a new track will stream during its first week. So if you want to pitch your music to a record label, the best thing you can do is create content for your track BEFOREHAND. That means you should: - Tease new music on social media all the time. See which songs get the most traction, and THEN pitch those tracks to record labels. - Keep up to date with social media trends and viral content. - Double down on content that does well by focusing your efforts on those specific songs. - Invest some money into boosting posts that do well naturally. This is WAY more effective than standard ads. If you do all of these things, eventually, one of your songs will pick up enough traction to get a record labels attention. Until then, make sure to self-release music consistently to keep fans engaged without record labels. Because you don't NEED record labels to be successful. But, it doesn't hurt... #musicmarketing #musicindustry #digitalmarketing #contentcreation

The Rule of 7 is a fundamental marketing principle. It asserts that a potential customer must encounter a message at least 7 times before taking action or making a purchase. Musicians can leverage this rule in the following ways: 1. For your audience to remember and associate your music with your brand, it’s essential that they see your logo, branding, or name at least 7 times. 2. Research shows that it typically takes a listener at least 7 times of hearing a song before it becomes familiar enough for them to start singing along. 3. Based on research, it is suggested that for a fan to become truly dedicated and start following your tour schedule, they may need to see you perform live at least 7 times. However, this might mean them streaming/watching your performance on any social media platform. 4. Social media: A fan may need to see your social media posts at least 7 times before they engage with your content, share it with others, or attend your shows. 5. Email marketing: A fan may need to receive at least 7 emails from you before they open one, click on a link, or buy your music. It’s essential for musicians to keep in mind the following strategies as part of the Rule of 7: - Making a concerted effort to consistently put out new music and content - Engaging with fans on social media on a regular basis - Actively touring and performing live as often as possible. You can even engage in online performance. - Cultivating an email list and sending out regular newsletters - Utilizing retargeting ads to reconnect with fans who have demonstrated interest The Rule of 7 is a strategy that musicians can use to enhance their visibility, cultivate a dedicated fanbase, and ultimately boost their sales and income. Shout out to invideo for generating this video for me. You can try it too. #YourFavoriteMusicMarketer #AfricasBestCatalogManager #OneDiscussionAtAtime #MyQuickPlug
