Technical skills can get you hired, but soft skills keep you in the job for the long term. That's one of the many lessons i learned that has sticked to my head. Having the right technical skills is just the starting point to show you can actually do the job. Employers want to know: Can you communicate effectively? Can you work collaboratively? Can you problem-solve creatively? I remember attending a recent interview where the interviewer emphasized, "Tell me about your soft skills." It dawned on me that these skills are no longer a nice-to-have, but a 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙩-𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 Whether you're a VA, web designer, copywriter, or in any other career, we all need to prioritize soft skills development. Let's prioritize taking courses, attend workshops, or simply practice self-awareness to improve our: ◼Communication ◼Emotional Intelligence ◼Time Management ◼Adaptability ◼Leadership Don't wait until it's too late. Here are 5 great things you can do to get your new hire super excited about starting work at your firm. 1. Give them materials, product brochures, in-advance training options or links to online tutorials before they begin. 2. Introduce them to the rest of your team! Particularly the key stakeholders they may need to interact with once they join. 3. Take them somewhere nice for a 1on1 to show them you're getting ready for them to start and that you yourself are excited about them joining. 4. Present their first 12 month employment journey to them. 5. Overcommunicate what you expect, key goals and the long term strategy you are working on for your department / vertical. Watch your new hire get challenged and excited about their role. We all want to be successful transitioning jobs. Nobody want to fail. Preparation and expectation management are basic things we need to stay on top of to ensure we get the best out of our new hires. #hiring #recruitment #onboarding #hr #hiringsuccess #TRIIIO Follow me on LinkedIn for more.

🤔 How does the hiring flow work in a Product Management Consultancy and what are some lessons we've learned? 1️⃣ 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥. While we aim to figure this out before hiring someone, for junior roles we prefer rather having false positives than false negatives. This means we give people a chance even if it doesn't work out rather than miss out on someone who may be a great fit with a strong work ethic. 2️⃣ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 Germany and Europe in general have strong regulations, so you need to keep an eye on the probation period ("probzeit") which is usually 6 months. Countries like the U.S. don't need it; the concept of at-will employment allows for termination at any time. 3️⃣ 3 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 5 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬 Yet 6 months it's a long time and in some cases, the new hires themselves or us notice it's not a long-term fit sooner. And that's ok. We've developed a process in which a new hire is appraised 3 times before the probation period ends. The last appraisal is completed in Month 5. 4️⃣ 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 We've applied the German rules to our distributed team because Germany has the toughest bureaucracy we need to abide by and we didn't want to have one process for each country we have team members in. We chose the hardest one and made it work. 💜 Shoutout to our Viktoria Korzhova, Mirela Mus, and Elena Ladushyna for the slide, process design, and organizing this! #hiring #performanceappraisal #productmanagement

🙂💫💫 If a candidate placement doesn't meet expectations, you might: 1.Provide additional training: Offer more training or resources to help the employee improve. 2. Adjust responsibilities:Modify the job duties to better match the employee's skills 3.Offer support:Provide guidance and mentorship to help the employee succeed. For example, if a new hire struggles with a specific software, you could provide extra training sessions. If a salesperson iS struggling, you might adjust their territory Or provide more sales coaching

🔍 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 🔍 In the workplace, we often use the terms position, designation, and title interchangeably. However, each term has a distinct meaning that can be important depending on the context. Here’s a breakdown to clarify these terms: 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Refers to the specific role or job an individual holds within an organization. It outlines responsibilities, duties, and scope of work. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: “Project Manager” – a position responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring their success. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The formal classification or categorization of a role. Often includes rank, authority, or professional qualification. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: "Senior" or "Lead" before a job title, such as "Senior Software Engineer." 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: The name given to a person's role, often used in formal contexts. It reflects professional standing or rank. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: “Director of Marketing” – the title communicates the person’s role and level within the organization. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬: 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 = The role and duties you perform. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 = Formal classification or rank (could include qualifications). 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 = The label used to identify your job, especially externally. 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭: Position: “𝘚𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳” Designation: “𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥” 𝘰𝘳 “𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘳” Title: “𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳” While these terms overlap in casual use, it's important to understand their subtle differences, especially when it comes to professional growth and organizational structure.
