Curious about which marketing channels truly make a difference in the SaaS landscape? To start off my Monday, I just read this article that breaks down various channels, and it got me reflecting on my own experiences with SaaS marketing. In past projects, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that platforms like social media and email can have. Initially, we ventured heavily into paid ads, thinking it was the golden ticket. However, it was the organic content sharing and authentic engagement with our audience that yielded the best results. It made me realize the importance of prioritizing channels that foster genuine connections rather than just chasing after quick conversions. The key takeaway? Diversify your marketing strategies and invest in building real relationships with your audience through valuable content. While it’s tempting to go for the flashy options, the long-term impact lies in what resonates with your users. What strategies have you found to be most effective? Feel free to share your thoughts! https://lnkd.in/eX33TbPA

HubSpot has a really good blog on attribution. It's one of my favorite topics when it comes to marketing. Basically, it's giving credit where credit is due. How are you looking at what marketing efforts are really making an impact on sales? If we can all agree that it takes multiple touch points, I believe it's 10+, to get a prospect to convert, which one of those 10 touch points gets the credit? Do they all receive an equal amount of credit? This is where data analysis becomes so crucial. Looking at channels with different attribution models will help you see this data through a better lens. For example, you might look at first touch attribution for channels like display where you are reaching new users. The goal is awareness and although not designed to drive conversions, is supposed to start the conversion. How many clicks or users from these campaigns end up resulting in a conversion down the road. Looking at 1st touch vs. last touch would help you identify this. When you start throwing in connected TV and streaming audio, which I'm very bullish on, it becomes even more difficult because there's no click. The ninjas in media buying will retarget those channels, UTM them a particular way, and analyze how those audiences convert compared to audiences not exposed to CTV or streaming audio. To throw even more curveballs, you need to be testing creative so how do you weigh these differently against channel attribution? As you can see, it's extremely hard, and why marketing is not so black and white. On the surface, digital marking is great because it's so data-driven. The other side of the coin is that data is abundant and we live in a world where people don't like to math at all and, therefore are intimidated by data. If we have a world full of people intimidated by data and numbers, it becomes very difficult to make data-driven business decisions. AI will help with this but I firmly believe if you don't have an alignment on attribution or even how to look at data as an organization, it's tough to quantify or know what efforts are really working. I'm not saying it needs to be a perfect but even corrleating efforts to overall revenue and bottom line is a great start as you test different channels/ideas. https://lnkd.in/ebANKdVE

Here’s my 4-part SaaS growth marketing framework that increases MQLs +2750%. Yes, you read that right. Here’s the framework 👇 1. Community-Led Marketing In times of economic uncertainty, your community is your moat. It’s easy to say “build community,” but this is very much a simple (not easy) strategy. 2. Revenue-Focused Content Too many content efforts are derailed by well-meaning marketers toiling away in SEO tools. Here, we leave the keyword tools behind and use a new "3S" strategy (sales, success and support) to win the SEO game in a way that directly impacts revenue pipeline. 3. Demand-Focused Content If you're looking to create demand (in addition to capturing it), this is the secret weapon you've been looking for. Create Content IP to build massive brand awareness, attributable customer generation and a talent pipeline waiting for positions to open up (if you're a CMO, you *need* that last part). 4. Authority Building Building your authority online expands far beyond digital PR and link building. This is how we become the journalistic center of the universe in our industry. Influencers and amplifiers will be knocking down our door to be featured and we’ll share industry insights not found anywhere else online. We can't copy the 2012 playbooks and win like we used to. And, in some cases, even 2019 playbooks are obsolete. 2024's winners have to play a new game.
