Five Important Questions to Address About Your Tennis Facility That Directly Impact First Impressions: 1) Is Your Facility Clean? There's no greater turn off and negative impression than seeing tennis courts that have leaves, used cups or other items left on the courts. Facilities lacking cleanliness instantly conveys the impression that the tennis programs doesn't take pride in their facility. 2) Is Your Staff Welcoming And Friendly? How tennis players are initially greeted, positively or negatively, makes a huge first impression that can help or hurt your tennis program. 3) Are Your Courts Well-Maintained? Seeing windscreens blowing in the wind, court number signs dangling on the fence, or courts that haven't been swept creates a negative impression of your facility that is difficult to overcome. To the contrary, seeing courts that are well-maintained creates a positive impression that will go a long way! 4) Do Your Courts Effectively Promote Your Brand And Possess A Home Court Advantage? There's some facilities you can instantly see the professional look and feel the pride in their program the moment you walk on the court. However, with some facilities, you wouldn't know the name of the school, club or tennis center unless someone tells you. 5) Do Your Courts Tell A Story About The History And Tradition Of Your Program? If your tennis program has been around for any amount of time, there's individuals (coaches, players, donors) who have made a positive and lasting impact on your program. How are you effectively recognizing these individuals and telling your story about your program that is unique to any other, and paying tribute to memorable tournaments and events that took place at your facility? If your tennis program or facility is new, how are your effectively recognizing the individuals (donors, coaches) who helped make the program or facility possible? CRAZY STAT: Over 10% of tennis courts have been converted to pickleball courts 😮 Tennis is hemorrhaging courts at the hands of its young rival, and it isn't surprising - the economics of pickleball are simply more attractive. The Business Owner's Choice: 👉 1 tennis court serving 4 players OR 👉 51 tennis court converted to 4 pickleball courts serving 16 players 💰 Clubs can rent out more space, cater to more members, and generate more revenue with just a "few strokes of paint". "There are not enough courts to support tennis growth... court infrastructure is being compromised with people playing pickleball on those courts or courts being repainted." - USTA CEO Lew Sherr More 👇 https://lnkd.in/e9_AbgmQ #pickleball #tennis #usta

Extremely honored to present at the 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧 with the (USTA) United States Tennis Association and 50 of the biggest Racquet Sports facilities operators in the USA!! 🙌 Im the proudest of this opportunity to present along my friend Simon Gale and share our insights on best operating practices as well as how to grow PADEL (in my case) under a successful business model. 💥 ENGAGEMENT, CONVERSION, PROFITABILITY, INNOVATION, CUSTOMER JOURNEY & RETENTION, PROGRAMMING, IDENTITY, AND REVENUE STREAMS were part of the topics on how to excel when running Racquet Sports venues. 🙌🙌 Congratulations, Justin Landis, Mickey Maule, Bridgett Ebanks, and USTA team for such an amazing initiative. 😘😘 We also had a magical activation at the USTA National Campus where fun, excitement, and network wrapped up a wonderful reunion ⭐️ The USTA Premier Facility program was designed to cultivate a standard of excellence across the tennis industry by recognizing and rewarding best-in-class tennis operators. The inaugural class of Premier Facilities includes 50 of the top tennis facilities across the country. In order to be eligible for the Premier Facility program, facilities must be a USTA member organization, employ certified teaching professionals, and be compliant with the USTA’s Safe Play program. Additionally, facilities must offer a wide array of tennis programming, including introductory, instructional, and social programs, as well as meet general facility standards.

The Rise of Pickleball: A Threat to the Popularity of Lawn Tennis?🥎 In recent years, #pickleball has emerged as a rapidly growing sport, gaining popularity across various age groups and regions. This surge has raised concerns within the tennis community, as pickleball courts are increasingly replacing tennis courts. According to the USA Pickleball Association, pickleball participation has increased by 21.3% from 2019 to 2021, with over 4.8 million players in the United States alone. The sport's simplicity, lower physical strain, and shorter game duration contribute to its growing appeal. The rise of pickleball poses a significant challenge to the popularity of lawn tennis. Tennis associations and clubs are converting tennis courts into pickleball courts to accommodate the increasing demand. This trend is alarming for tennis enthusiasts, as it reduces the availability of tennis facilities and could potentially diminish the sport's popularity. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) reported a 4.5% decline in tennis participation from 2018 to 2020, coinciding with the rise of pickleball. Many public parks and recreational facilities now feature more pickleball courts than tennis courts. In India, tennis has traditionally been popular, with stars like Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Sania Mirza inspiring many young athletes. However, urban areas are witnessing a shift, with several tennis courts being converted to pickleball courts to cater to the growing interest among the youth and elderly Tennis legend Federer has expressed concerns about the declining number of tennis courts and the rise of alternative sports like pickleball. He emphasizes the need for tennis organizations to invest in youth programs and grassroots development to sustain the sport's popularity. While pickleball's rise poses challenges to lawn tennis, it also presents opportunities for innovation and growth within the tennis community. What you think - Is Pickleball really a threat to Lawn tennis? Would love to know your thoughts on the comment box below 👇
