Excited to share BSR's new report on stakeholder engagement in the context of a just transition: https://lnkd.in/eNgymDVi. A big thank you to Ouida Chichester and everyone who made this report possible across the Energy for a Just Transition collaboration, including The B Team, EJT participants, and BSR colleagues, for their thoughtful reflections, participation, and efforts throughout this process. The report provides actionable insights on local-level engagement, human rights assessments, and long-term value creation to help companies align with just transition principles while enhancing resilience and inclusion. Our guidance emphasizes the necessity of engaging impacted communities and embedding diverse perspectives in decision-making, fostering transparency, collaboration, and ensuring access to remedy. By examining key elements such as benefit-sharing, co-creation, cultural identity, time horizons, and transparency, the report guides companies and practitioners in addressing the unique impacts on stakeholders across labor, communities, businesses, and governments during both transitions in and out. Check out the report to learn more! #JustTransition #StakeholderEngagement #EnergyTransition #SustainableBusiness
What new challenges and opportunities does a just transition pose for stakeholder engagement? As businesses navigate the transition to a low-carbon economy, this NEW report offers ways to establish and engage in proactive, responsive, and ongoing conversations with impacted stakeholders throughout the just transition process. While the approach to stakeholder engagement and social dialogue may differ depending on whether a company is "transitioning out" of high-carbon assets and activities or "transitioning in" to low-carbon opportunities, the goal to integrate diverse stakeholder perspectives into the process remains key as businesses work to ensure a positive outcome for all involved. Read and download the report here: https://lnkd.in/eNgymDVi This guidance is intended for local practitioners at project and country levels involved in engaging the workforce and unions, stakeholders and communities, business partners, and governments within the energy and utilities sectors. It also serves site-level business functions responsible for operational decisions and corporate staff who develop frameworks to support colleagues in the field. While tailored for energy companies, the principles are applicable across various industries. This report was coauthored by BSR’s Andrey Pertsov and Ouida Chichester, with special thanks to all BSR colleagues and The B Team partners for their invaluable insights and contributions to this guidance, particularly Sierra L., Cameron Steagall, Anine Bundgård, Deborah Rigling Gallagher, Paloma Muñoz Quick, and the dedicated EJT participants. #sustainablebusiness #justtransition #regulatoryaffairs #energytransition #cleanenergyfuture

📈 Businesses are increasingly being asked to report their carbon footprint as part of customer demands and tender applications. 📊 According to the latest 2024 UK Net Zero Business Census, 73% of organisations are prioritising net zero. 🌎 At Net Zero Now, we’ve seen this shift first-hand. Our CEO, Simon Heppner, recently commented: “The growing demand for carbon data reporting is a clear sign that having a climate strategy is rapidly becoming business critical; to meet tender pre-qualification criteria, recruit and retain employees and comply with mandatory reporting requirements.” Check out our blog ⬇️ looking at six sectors where carbon footprint data is in high demand… do you work in one of those sectors? https://lnkd.in/evJUyN2S

While California regulations are ramping up, it is interesting to see a cooling in hiring for ESG specific roles across the US. The California disclosure regulations coming into force in 2026 requires companies to report on their Scope 3 emissions (those of third parties along their supply or value chains) for both private and public companies (subject to some revenue hurdles). If you are curious about what to expect in California or want to explore what you need to do to prepare for the regulations coming, CFGI has teams to walk you through the regulations or work with you to prepare your company for the disclosures. #CFGI #Accountingadvisory #ESG #Californiaclimaterules https://lnkd.in/gggKGZ5b

🐱🏍 If you were in charge for a day, what would YOU do? 📊 Our poll last week asked 'if you were in charge for a day, where would you focus the government’s energies to reduce the UK’s emissions?'. And the top result mirrored the findings from our recent State of the State research. Our latest #ChartOfTheMonth saw that a strong 45% of people believe that switching national energy use away from fossil fuels will make the greatest difference. But between second and fifth place, there’s just 3% difference. In second place (30%), with noticeable backing from the 16- to 24-year-olds, was a call to regulate business carbon emissions and waste. And in third (29%), people want the government to encourage greener transport. Fifth place was a particular favourite for the over 55s, who think the government should prioritise reducing waste. 🗑 So what’s your thoughts on where the government should prioritise their actions next. 💭 👉 Let us know in the comments below and dig deeper into the State of the State report: https://lnkd.in/deWdpMWe Deloitte Insights
