In all honesty, you may not want to see your regulator - whatever the sector. And I can understand why. Maybe hearing a different tune of patient and services users involvement, simple, flexible, transparent, outcome-focused regulation and even, regulators trying to streamline and facilitate, not block, will change your mind. Let's see! Brilliant to spend time again with Henrietta Hughes #patientsafety #healthcare #alliedhealthprofessions #scientists The Patients Association #nhs
Our Chair Christine Elliott spent some time with Dr Henrietta Hughes, the Patient Safety Commissioner, recently discussing the importance of working together, alongside other regulators throughout the healthcare system, to create better outcomes for patients. A big theme of the conversation was collaboration. As a truly multi-profession regulator, we can clearly see the benefits of different professionals working together. But our current regulatory landscape too often reflects the opposite. By working more collaboratively with other regulators, we can not only empower patients to make more informed choices about their care but also empower professionals to work more confidently. The digital front door in healthcare remains too fragmented and disjointed. Part of the reason is that the digital front door is not just one moment in time. Finding, scheduling, and preparing for care should be as seamless as possible. Two great colleagues at Notable - Gabriella Rozenblat and Dayne Hoffman - will share some of our learnings and POV on this in their upcoming webinar, Demystifying the digital front door: What works (and doesn't) in modern patient engagement.
