Vodafone Idea (Vi), one of India's leading telecom providers, has signed a monumental deal with Swedish telecom giant Ericsson. This ₹14,000 crore agreement will span over three years and will focus on both 4G and 5G network expansion across ten markets in India.

As part of this contract, Ericsson will supply state-of-the-art 4G and 5G base stations to Vodafone Idea. The target regions include major telecom markets like Delhi, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Northeast India, Assam, Karnataka, and more. This deal solidifies Ericsson's pivotal role in enhancing Vi’s telecom infrastructure.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will not only help with 5G deployment but also upgrade Vi's 4G network capabilities across India. The upgraded 4G networks will offer better coverage and enhanced power efficiency. These improvements will bolster Vi’s existing services in critical areas like Delhi, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.
