I'm excited to share this CNN article about self-collection for cervical cancer screening, featuring our FDA-approved BD Onclarity™ HPV assay. Cervical cancer is preventable, and screening plays a crucial role in early detection and prevention. But many women are not comfortable with the pelvic exam required for a traditional Pap smear. The test, which has started shipping to customers in the U.S., provides a less invasive and more private option for women and expands access to critical cervical cancer screening. It also offers extended genotyping, which means that the test can identify the individual strains of HPV that pose a higher risk for causing precancer and cancer. #cervicalcancer #hpvtesting #selfcollection #BDemployee https://bit.ly/485o10b

We self-collect (aka "self sample") quite a few things for all kinds of cancer-related testing, but self-collecting vaginal specimens? Say what? Researchers have been studying this method for a while now (Thank you, Cervical Cancer "Last Mile" sites!), and it's shown to increase access and uptake of #HPV testing for various reasons. The FDA just approved the BD Oncoclarity™ HPV Assay, which tests for 6 HPV strains (known to cause cervical cancer), and it is quite a step forward in cervical cancer screening. Yes, we CAN end #cancer as we know it. https://ow.ly/LqBu50RHFqC #EndCancer #CervicalCancer #SelfSample #SelfCollect #Screening #Detection

Worldwide, the burden of cancer falls on low- and middle-income countries. That is why BD is committed to a #GlobalCancerMoonshot, driving progress by exploring the benefits self-collection of samples to help improve access to cervical cancer screening and support earlier diagnosis. Learn more about how self-collection could remove some of the barriers presented by traditional in-clinic testing in this article published by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), written by Jeff Andrews, MD, Vice President, Medical & Scientific Affairs at BD Life Sciences. https://lnkd.in/gQ4pUWXS #CloseTheCareGap

🙋♀️ It is recommended for women to undergo #HPV screening every 3 or 5 years. Zeesan HPV genotyping kit is one of the few kits available on the market that is capable of conducting full genotyping of 14 high-risk HPV types. This provides a more comprehensive understanding of the specific types of HPV present in an individual, facilitating better diagnosis and management of HPV-related conditions. Every intervention counts to eliminate cervical cancer! #HPVscreening #cervicalcancer
