In today's edition of the WTF Career week, one thing that stood out for me was the importance of "Confidence" Initially lacking confidence as someone who preferred to keep things to myself, I am unlearning and relearning along the way. The fireside chat further reinforced the value of being confident in myself. #CareerDevelopment #ConfidenceBuilding #WTFCareerWeek #WTFC24 #WTFCareerWeek24 #Tech4Dev Tech4Dev

I’ve been reflecting a lot lately. This week, I’ll be participating in a fireside chat with Alex Laurie at #PingYouInverse in London and Amsterdam. The question of what sets #Midships apart often comes up (and it probably will again!). While I have a stock answer ready, I’ve realized that it’s not just our expertise or transparency that makes us unique. What truly sets us apart is our unwavering accountability. We are driven by passion, and the moment we become aware of a mistake, challenge or receive feedback, we take immediate action. Just last week, on a Monday, a customer's third-party vendor made a single negative comment about our services during a general call. Shortly after my MD Aja Rangaswamy flew to the client site to understand the root cause. We weren’t seeking a retraction but wanted to understand the perception. This led us to uncover a series of minor issues, some of our own making. All of the minor issues regardless of where they lie are are now being actively addressed. At Midships, we genuinely care about delivery and take our responsibilities seriously. When challenges arise, we confront them head-on. Over the past six years, I’ve flown halfway around the world to address even the smallest concerns. Many firms have expertise, but few have the passion and commitment to excellence that we have cultivated at #Midships. #unwaveringaccountability #deliveryexcellence

Earlier this week, we hosted a roundtable discussion with over 10 professionals from various trades. Our students learned valuable interview skills, explored the differences within each trade, and discovered the diverse job roles available. Providing these resources is essential to MC3’s mission of helping students build successful careers in their chosen trades. #MC3 #TradeSkills #CareerSuccess #WorkforceDevelopment

MY D.E. SHAW EXPERIENCE! Placements , Placements , Placements , THE DREAM SLOT! Just like other 250 people from my own college only , I also applied for D.E. Shaw (dream slot) and started daydreaming about it, Lol! However the selection procedure consisted of - -Aptitude test - Group discussion (case study round included) - Interview. I appeared for the aptitude test having no idea about what its gonna be like . Somehow , I cleared it . And now out of 250 people , 80 remains. YES! EXACTLY! It’s a huge number. Now comes the GD round , the most eliminative round. I was scared as well as neutral about it . I just wanted to appear and give my best. Unfortunately , couldn’t make it. And guess what , the numbers came from 80 to 5 ! NOW only 5 people will be appearing for the final PI . The whole experience was genuinely worth it , every minute looking at everyone and everything around. You start feeling better about you being one of them. Trying to achieve something , do something and working for it. However I am proud and happy enough that I appeared and tried to give my best . No matter the results , if you genuinely don’t want to disappoint yourself , GO AND GRAB THE OPPORTUNITY, WITHOUT THINKING MUCH ABOUT GETTING SELECTED OR NOT , TRYING MATTERS:)

Exciting news! Yesterday, I closed on my first home. Given the current housing market, I never thought this would be possible. I didn't think I would have the funds to take on a mortgage. So, what changed? 1. #Networking: I attended every job fair, networking event, and employer highlight I could find, including those offered by Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) and Wounded Warrior Project During some of their information sessions, I was introduced to the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program. 2. #TakingaChance: I decided to step out of IT, which had been my focus for most of my life, and explore the world of #manufacturing. I enrolled in the #ATDM program. 3. Dedication: I gave my all to this new path, #learning as much as I could every day to excel in my new field. I applied to numerous places, interviewed extensively, and met an amazing company, Integrity Industries. They saw beyond my role in machining and recognized the value of my IT background, my #veteran experience, and my dedication to learning. 4. #SteppingOutofMyComfortZone: I applied for a loan with Veterans United Home Loans and was approved! This morning, for the first time in my life, I woke up as a #homeowner. I have all the above to thank for this incredible milestone, because without any part of that journey, I wouldn't have this smile today. #Moral: Never underestimate the power of stepping out of your comfort zone, networking, and dedicating yourself to #ContinuousLearning. These efforts can lead to unexpected and rewarding #opportunities. I wish you all luck on your journey! #Homeowner #FirstHome #Networking #Veterans #PVA #WoundedWarriorProject #ATDM #Manufacturing #CareerChange #Dedication #Learning #IntegrityIndustries #VeteransUnited #SuccessStory #Motivation

Immense thanks to our host employer, RTX, for delivering one of our most impactful sessions yet on navigating the job offer process! This was an eye-opening experience, largely thanks to the authentic, practical guidance provided by Stacy Garnett and Rocio Kary - RBLP, CPO. Their commitment to empowering our students with real-world insights and tools to handle job offers and negotiations is genuinely appreciated. Opportunities like this, to engage directly with host employers, are what set our FourBlock career readiness program apart. Our class explored essential topics like understanding compensation, key negotiation essentials, and effective communication through every stage of the offer process. Sessions like these equip our students not just to secure opportunities but to thrive in them. Looking forward to next week’s session and continuing this journey of career readiness. Thank you, RTX, Stacy Garnett, and Rocio Kary - RBLP, CPO, for making this session unforgettable!
