CLT Toolbox Version 2.0.7 is now live, with another MAJOR screw release. Key Features of this release include: Grain-Specific Modules: Select Side or End Grain design modules aligned with the application type. New Eurocode 5 Design Code: Now supporting the latest Eurocode 5 (prEN1995-1-1:2023). Slip Module Calculations: Each connection module includes slip module computations, accounting for materials, fastener types, and specific supplier ETAs. Screw More Information: Access detailed screw supplier data, product families, and specs directly in the app. These are now implemented across six new connection modules including: - Axially Loaded Side Grain - Axially Loaded End Grain - Laterally Loaded Timber-to-Timber Side Grain - Laterally Loaded Timber-to-Timber End Grain - Laterally Loaded Steel-to-Timber Side Grain - Laterally Loaded Steel-to-Timber End Grain Best of all we're just getting started on our screw design roadmap! Head to the app to learn more. #masstimber #clttoolbox #connectiondesign

Column Web Compression Stiffener Exploring the Power of Column Web Compression Stiffeners in Steel Connections! 🔍 🚀 Recent analyses, both manual and numerical, unveil significant enhancements in steel joints. By integrating a full-depth compression stiffener into a steel column with beams bolted via an extended end plate, we've observed notable improvements. 🌉 📈 The inclusion of the stiffener not only curbs plastic deformation in the compression zone but also escalates the moment resistance by about 14% and ramps up the initial stiffness by a remarkable 16%! This aligns closely with our manual calculations using the component method. 💻 🏗️ Such findings are invaluable for steel joint designers, showcasing how a small change can yield substantial gains in performance and reliability. Dive deeper into our analysis and see how Dlubal Software's #SteelJoints add-on can elevate your steel design game! 🛠️ ℹ Try out our Free Full Trial Version https://bit.ly/2WSGGMK #RFEM #StructuralEngineering #SteelConnections #SteelStructures #Stiffener #SteelDesign #CompressionZone #MomentResistance

This code creates a web-based tip calculator that allows users to input a bill amount and tip percentage to calculate and display the tip amount and total bill. It uses HTML for structure, CSS for styling, and JavaScript for the calculation functionality. https://lnkd.in/dMXrcTDP @Basit Hussain

Diagram as code is pretty neat. I tried out an example of statefulset : 3 pods connected to storage class via PVC. Now even system design diagrams can go into github :) PS: you can set the show to True if you dont want to open the png created with eog or similar tool

Screw modules are now on CLT Toolbox 👀! Screw connections can be challenging for many reasons: - Suppliers have various products with their own ETAs that specify tested values and product specifics. - There are complex load transfer mechanisms with timber being orthotropic, making the design hard to visualise. - Screws perform differently in different orientatinos: vertical, inclined, crossed, etc. - There is a load path complexity. - There are evolving standards and new products making spreadsheets redundant. For 8-months now we’ve been busy putting together screw modules that are going to scale with our roadmap on mass timber connections design. We’re beyond excited to announce we’ve just released three screw calculator modules including: 1. The Axially Loaded Screw (as showcased in the gif) 2. Laterally Loaded Steel to Timber 3. Laterally Loaded Timber To Timber This includes visualisation of the applied forces, educational drop downs, supplier toggling, manual input and transparent approach to design. This is just the beginning. In the coming weeks, we’ve got a lot more to announce in terms of technical content & our connection partnerships on the platform. Stay tuned for more 🚀🎉!
