"How do you become a line technician?" "What entry-level jobs do you have for recent graduates?" or from younger students, "Do you have to go to college to work at EWEB?" “What is EWEB doing for sustainability?” "Can I ride in a bucket truck?" When EWEB employees visit career fairs at local middle schools, high schools, and universities, we answer a lot of questions about EWEB’s work and the jobs available here. Some are about our day-to-day work, and some get to the heart of EWEB’s role in the community. Questions like: "What is a public utility?" or similarly, "Are you the government?" We always enjoy answering such a variety of great questions from all ages and are currently working on our career fair calendar for 2025. Have questions of your own? Feel free to ask away in the comments below. Otherwise, be sure to check our website eweb.org/careers as we post new positions regularly. #Eugene #Local #Recruiting #CareerFair (The photo above is from the Pleasant Hill Middle and High School career fair, and we also recently attended the University of Oregon's BizCareers in Outdoor, Apparel, and Sustainability event.)

Hey! Green Skills Career people... Thinking about future careers can be tough and stressful to young people. We are frequently advised that to be successful in our careers, we must follow a certain path; however, we know this is not the case. There are many twists and turns in life, and we frequently find ourselves in an interesting career that we never expected or even knew existed. Unlike a traditional careers fair, we hope that this event will dispel what a Green Skills profession entails by showcasing the wide range of jobs available that are related to sustainability. We also want to highlight the irregular routes you can take to reach such careers. This is where YOU come in!! We invite you to come down to the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School, not only to represent your job, but also to represent yourself, so that students can ask you questions about how you got to where you are. We are looking for delegates from a wide range of diverse backgrounds with a focus on green skills careers. What you will be doing on the day You will each have your own 'station', a medium size table, whith a board explaining the journey you have been on to get to your green skills career. Each group of students will spend some time at your station (~5 minutes) where you can explain who you are and the journey you've been on. Full marks if you can provide a more immersive experience or a task for the students that lasts a few minuts, to get them engaged on your sustainability topic of choice. Any questions or not sure what you can do, just ask us! Preparation Once you sign up to the event we will send through a short 2-3 minute questionnaire for you to fill in. We will ask you questions about your current role and the journey you've been on to get there! This will then be presented to the students on the day in the way of an A3 board that sits at your station. We are prepared to accept more than one delegate from a company if those additional delegates offer distinct perspectives on their experience compared to their colleagues.
Love Design Studio is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a Green Skills Career Fair at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson school for girls in Islington on 24th April from 12:30-16:00 and we want YOU to help students discover exciting career opportunities in the green industry. We already have a great array of delegates, but there is room for additional firms and individuals to participate, so please join if you are available and the appropriate match! Sign up to the link below or reach out to mail@lovedesignstudio.co.uk for more details! https://lnkd.in/eBMnNB4g

SPE VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR 2024 I was opportune to attend the 2024 SPE virtual career fair that held on the 30th of April to 2nd of May, three topics were discussed on each day and attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions concerning the industry or the topic being discussed. It was really an enlightening event, it opened my mind to the opportunities SPE as an organization offers to it's members. I have being a student member of the organization but I never really understood the purpose of my membership, attending the three day symposium helped me understand the role SPE can play on my journey in the oil and gas industry and gave me an opportunity to see the industry in different parts of the world through the eyes of aged professionals and young professionals. During the symposium four topics stood out for me, the discussion topics were Young professionals in energy, How to use AI effectively in your studies ,New technologies that change the way we do oil and gas and Personal branding and networking. I got to hear the the experiences and struggles of other young professionals in the industry and got some advice on how to make myself relevant in the large industry of oil and gas. The event was truly amazing, it's important as students going into industries to study beyond the class room, if you are opportune, join workshops, seminars or trainings, you may not see the useful outcome now, but those meetings and skills may become a gateway to something bigger and you never know who you will meet that can serve as a step on your journey to the top.
