The Stroke Foundation was recently nominated by an employee for a donation from the CMV Group Staff Foundation in acknowledgment of the fantastic support services provided to patients and their families following a stroke, and throughout the recovery and rehabilitation journey. As a result of this nomination, CMV Group Staff Foundation Committee Member, Daniel Scott, along with some of the team from Mercedes-Benz Unley was thrilled to hand over a generous donation to Lena Milshtein from the Stroke Foundation.

Kyle's design and web development skills have been invaluable in making Post Stroke a reality. He recently designed and developed our new website which looks incredible! He has over 13 years of experience in UX/Product Design and Frontend Web Development, and it shows. He's also proficient in and passionate about web accessibility, something that's incredibly important for my organization, but should be the standard for all websites. I'm so proud of Post Stroke's new site! Check it out ⬇️ #stroke #strokerecovery #strokerehab #poststroke #nonprofit #web #webdeveloper #webdevelopment #frontenddev #frontenddevelopment #ux #ui #uxdesign #uidesign #productdesign
This past week, I carved out some time to design and build a quick new site for my wife’s nonprofit, Post Stroke. It’s very much an MVP-type project; we have a ton of ideas we’ve yet to build out. But I think it’s a solid first step and a reminder that ‘done is better than perfect’ :) Also, for those not in the know, this month is Stroke Awareness Month. Post Stroke has a ton of excellent awareness and educational content planned. They also just launched their first fundraiser. I’ll post their info below if you know anyone who might benefit from their free recovery education. Obviously, I’m biased, but I’m incredibly proud of her progress. Her work is making a real and lasting impact on the lives of many stroke survivors worldwide. Let’s do it
This year Ryan's London Office will be taking part in not one but two 100km walks in support of the Stroke Association. We will be walking on the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge on 25-26 May and also doing the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on 14-15 September. For both walks, we will be walking through the night and try to complete the challenge within 24 hours or less. When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. The Stroke Association's specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives. Please give what you can! Thank you for your support!

This October I’m running the Chicago Marathon to raise money for the wonderful charity Unite 2 Fight Paralysis (U2FP) and their incredible work in the Spinal Cord Injury #SCI community. This Saturday just passed, I did a (subjectively) silly challenge to raise money for them. Video proof below. The challenge? To get to 60 points ⭐️ in a day. 🏃♂️/ 🛞 1 mile = 1 point ⭐️ 🍩 1 donut = 1 point ⭐️ 🍺 1 beer = 1 point ⭐️ Thank you to everyone who donated and we got $680 on Saturday! A spinal cord injury can happen to anybody, at any time, and lead to lifelong changes in how you are able to live your life. Before meeting the guys a few months ago I (like most people) assume that if you’re paralyzed then the one thing you must ant to do is to be able to walk again, right? Not necessarily. There’s alternatives for walking (see Erik absolutely nail 50 miles around the Charles River in the video, no problem) – it’s other things that people miss the most. Being able to pee when it’s a convenient time. Being able to have an orgasm. Being able to give your kids a two-armed hug. Thankfully I get to somewhat help them in a round about away through work, having placed some quality and regulatory folks into Neuromodulation device companies, but it’s a small drop in the ocean for what could be. I hope this post isn’t a disservice to what it’s really like, if you’d like to chat about the charity please reach out and I’ll happily chat! For now, enjoy my terrible editing skills below 😊 Matthew Rodreick Quinn Brett #sci #paralysis #neuromodulation #u2fp
