The cycle of codependency in a relationship can be hard to break, but recognizing it is the first step toward healing. In codependent relationships, one partner often overextends to meet the emotional needs of the other, sacrificing their own well-being. Over time, this creates an unhealthy dynamic where self-worth becomes tied to the approval or stability of the other person. Breaking this cycle means learning to set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and cultivate self-love. True love is rooted in mutual respect and support, not dependency. Healing from codependency is a journey to reclaiming your power and emotional independence. 💪🏽 #BreakTheCycle #CodependencyAwareness #HealthyRelationships #EmotionalIndependence #BoundariesMatter #SelfLoveJourney #BlackAndDainty #RelationshipHealing

Codependency can be difficult to identify in our relationships. Here are a few signs that we might be a codependent person in our relationships—- ▪️ We seek reassurance and appreciation from our loved one. We desperately want to be recognized for all that we have done for our loved one. ▪️ We have difficulty being honest in our relationships. We cannot express our feelings due to fear of conflict/fear of abandonment. ▪️ Fear of loosing our relationships impacts our ability to be our most genuine self. ▪️ Apologizing even when we are not feeling sorry in an effort to keep the peace and keep everyone happy. ▪️ We cannot implement our own boundaries for ourselves out of fear that we will upset a loved one. ▪️ We have difficulty making decisions because of these things. We try to make the decision that makes everyone happy rather than the decision that works best for us.
