The holiday season can be a very stressful time, but YOU don't have to stay stressed. Being happy at Xmas is a lot about letting go. Dropping perfectionism, the need to get every last thing done, and perform socially. It's OK to be you! Let go your high expectations of yourself (and others!), relax and enjoy the moment. Stop going on disappointing holidays Start doing ‘Lessons learned’. No exaggeration, this has transformed our holidays from endurance events → joy. It’s so simple: - I keep a list of 'Holiday Lessons Learned' in my notes - After each holiday I add a few I like to do this on the way home: - So I can ask my husband and kids what they’d keep/change (they always think of things I didn’t) - And so I model the practice for my kids. (Deliberate reflection is a powerful habit they can use their whole lives long) I write the lessons down because - it makes your reflections deeper - you can check the file before your next holiday. You can see some of my ‘lessons learned’ below. (You don't want to know how we learned 'no milk on transport for Freya...) Do you have any lessons learned from this summer? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨-𝐝𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬. But what if we flipped the script this year? Instead of striving for perfection, what if we focused on connection with others and ourselves? It’s easy to get lost in the hustle: ▪️ The perfect gift. ▪️ The flawless meal. ▪️ The spotless house. But here’s the thing: no one remembers perfection. They remember the laughter, the stories, and the little moments of joy. This holiday season, I’m focusing on what truly matters: creating meaningful moments with loved ones, carving out time for reflection, and embracing the joy of simply having fun. It’s not about doing it all, it’s about doing what feels right and making space for laughter, connection, and the things that energise us. How are you approaching the holidays this year? Are you letting go of perfection and focusing on connection, too? Let me know, I’d love to hear!

Does December make you feel like you're on a treadmill set to max incline? Between deadlines, holiday parties, and gift shopping, it’s easy for motivation to fizzle. But here’s the thing: how you finish the year matters just as much as how you started it. So, how do we stay motivated when our brains are halfway to vacation mode? ✨ Focus on progress, not perfection: Keep moving the needle—even if it’s just a little. 🎁 Give yourself grace: Not everything has to get done before the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31. 🌟 Set one small, inspiring goal for January: Plant the seeds now to make the new year feel exciting, not overwhelming. Remember, the holidays are about joy—not burnout. Take a breath, take a break, and finish the year your way. #careerwinnerscircle #HolidayMotivation #setyourintentions #goalsettingforsuccess #MotivationMatters

Holidays start today, and I must admit, I arrive with my batteries running low. I need this break, but for me, holidays are not about disconnection. My work is my passion, and I don't need or want to disconnect from it. Instead, holidays are about lowering the intensity. It's about stopping the constant running from one place to another, from one event to another, and from one meeting to another. It's a chance to try the "slow life" concept, something I rarely practice and hardly know. It's about experiencing "dolce far niente," the sweetness of doing nothing, which is also unfamiliar to me. This break is about reading books, enjoying time with friends and family, and not constantly checking the time. It's about taking care of myself, doing more sport, relaxing, enjoying just watching a landscape, and savoring the little things. Holidays are a moment to refill my batteries, so I can return at 1000% for what's to come and enjoy every moment to the fullest.

Take Some Time to Pause This Season If you really take the time to look at all the events in your life, you will find that they change you, sometimes for the better and sometimes not. What we often take from these events depends on what we need to take from them especially during the time they are happening. The pending holidays will often cause many to stop and reflect upon their journey in a world that changes every day. People will make promises to change old habits while they affirm their desire to keep them. But sadly, they often do not follow through with their desires. As we approach this holiday season, with its’ start of a new year, look out for the unexpected situations that so often clutter these days. Remember that this is your journey, and you determine the direction you will take for your future life. However, sometimes you can even change the journeys for others. Take the time to be kind to someone you don’t know and give a bit more than you intended. Life is short and happiness really is built on the goodness we share with others. You will find the return is truly the best, and in this process these events will take on a deeper and more wonderful meaning, not just for you, but for everyone. Happy Holidays. Rik Cornell

Alone for the Holidays? Here's Why That's Okay Attention: The holidays can be a lonely time if you don't have family or friends to celebrate with. But being alone doesn't have to be bad. Interest: In fact, spending the holidays solo can be an opportunity. You get to do exactly what YOU want, without having to accommodate anyone else's traditions or preferences. Think of it as a staycation just for you! Desire: Make the holidays your own by planning activities focused on self-care and personal growth. Cook your favorite foods, binge watch shows, take yourself on dates, learn a new skill, or meditate. Treat yourself to experiences and gifts you'll really enjoy. Action: This year, embrace your alone time. Reflect on the past year, set goals, and focus on self-improvement. Doing the holidays your way will boost your mood and self-confidence. Don't dwell on being alone - thrive on the freedom to choose your own adventure! The holidays can be whatever you make of them. Enjoy this special time with yourself.
