How not to be a great place to work at: Today our Vistara - TATA SIA Airlines Ltd. flight took off from Goa and landed back again at Goa due to a "small technical issue". When I asked the flight attendant, "We deserve more information, isn't it?", she replied, "Even I deserve more information". Why did not the pilot give more information like what the issue was, how much time it will take to rectify etc.? Frontline people of an organisation are very critical and they need to be at their best for the organization's success. The entire management needs to be in service of the frontline people so that they deliver service to the customers. Sometimes we only see the top management demoralise the frontline employees.
