Our #CoastCommsTeam series continues with Des'ree Isibor! As someone relatively new to PR, she is energized by working with our team and learning about our clients — and we’re so grateful for the passion she brings. Des’ree’s favourite work at Coast Comms is #eventplanning. “I love event planning and management for our clients. It can be daunting at first, especially when deadlines are tight, but I enjoy every step that brings a client’s vision to life. From crafting the event plan and coordinating with vendors to designing materials and managing last-minute changes, it’s a process that I find incredibly rewarding. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment after a successful client event.”

There's something truly special about being an event planner. The thrill of bringing ideas to life, coordinating every detail, and watching it all come together is indescribable. But the real magic happens when the event unfolds and you see the smiles, the connections being made, and the moments that will be remembered long after the day is over. Seeing the success of an event I've worked on is heart-melting. It’s a reminder of why I love what I do—creating experiences that resonate, inspire, and leave a lasting impact. Proud to be part of an industry where every project is a new adventure and a chance to make something unforgettable. #EventManagement #PassionForEvents #CreatingMemories

Meet Sophie, our resident Project Manager! 🐾 Just like in field marketing and event planning, today’s special project needed a steady hand (or paw) to keep things on track. Sophie took her role seriously, managing the space with focus and calm amidst ladders, tools, and plenty of distractions. Field marketers and event planners know that success often comes down to managing all the moving parts and ensuring everything runs smoothly, and Sophie’s presence reminded me just how important a steady presence is to execute a flawless event. Here’s to all the project managers out there—furry or not—who keep our projects and events on schedule! Well done, Sophie! #FieldMarketing #EventPlanning #ProjectManagement

🚀 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟯 - 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Today, I’m diving into a vital yet often overlooked piece of event success—supplier communication. With countless moving parts like venues, AV, catering, and transport, effective coordination is critical. But here’s a reality check: while your event might be the highlight on your calendar, for suppliers, it’s one of many. This is where an experienced event planner makes all the difference. Here’s how I approach supplier communication: Building Relationships – Each supplier is part of my team. Knowing them by name and treating them as partners makes all the difference on event day. (Gabriella Robuccio is a master of this!) Sharing Your Vision – There’s only one way you want your event delivered. I ensure every partner understands your unique expectations. Asking the Right Questions – Timing is key, and proactive communication uncovers and mitigates risks before they become issues. With the right strategy, you won’t need to worry about the details; they’re covered. But without it, quality can easily slip. If you’re looking to elevate your event experience, let’s connect and make sure your next event is a standout! #EventManagement #SupplierCommunication #EventStrategy #LinkedInMiniSeries #HayLetsCommunicate

Last week I was lucky enough to attend (digitally) a fascinating agency roundtable, orgainsed by the brilliant Remeny Armitage Royle with Alex Blondin. The subject was around building stronger relationships with clients by becoming a more strategic partner. So, really powerful stuff! From the outset the discussion was really thought-provoking, and the break-out sessions were as fun as they were illuminating. The roundtable was well chaired by both Remeny and Alex and it was great that it was so well attended by such a big range of agency types. There was definitely a lot of food for thought. A few key take outs: - make sure clients are aware of all your services - plan in regular check-in meetings - check client briefs against their strategic objectives - be proactive and accountable - don't try to fix everything (at once) And, of course, one crucial reminder; if you can't do it yourself ask an expert (such as Remeny) to do it for you! I'm really looking froward to attending more of these!
