SSAFA the Armed Forces charity has launched a new campaign, Requesting Backup, in a bid to boost support for veterans returning to civilian life. Since 1885 the tri-force military charity has provided wellbeing and welfare support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. SSAFA is now launching its refreshed brand purpose – to reach and embrace the Armed Forces family, so they never battle alone – in a fully integrated marketing campaign, called “Requesting Backup”. “Requesting Backup” is the first campaign of its kind at SSAFA, focusing entirely on the veteran experience and the support that SSAFA provides to veterans when they need support. The campaign seeks to shine a spotlight on the varied challenges they face upon leaving the military, and the difference that meaningful support can make in their lives. https://lnkd.in/ecGmMK3q #armedforcescommunity

Honouring Our Heroes: 80 Years Since D-Day. Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings; and I'd like us to pause and reflect on the courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment of the brave men and women who stormed the beaches of Normandy on that fateful day in 1944. Allied Forces Unite: Troops from the UK, the USA, Canada, and France joined forces to launch the largest seaborne invasion in history. Their collective determination turned the tide of World War II, laying the foundation for an Allied victory. From Portsmouth to Normandy: On June 6, 1944, these heroes faced unimaginable challenges as they waded through the cold waters, dodging bullets and artillery fire. Their sacrifice and resilience paved the way for freedom and peace. Remembering Our Veterans: Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants—those who risked everything for our liberty. Let us remember their valour, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to a better world. Supporting Our Veterans: Supporting veterans isn’t just about remembering the past; it’s about ensuring their well-being today. Patriot Mobile and Cell Phones for Soldiers team up to provide cell phone service for a group of US Navy recruits participating in the Adopt-A-Sailor program on Christmas Day. 🇸🇪🇩🇰👏 Sweden and Denmark have signed a contract for 205 armored combat vehicles to replenish their stocks after donations to Ukraine. Of the 205 CV90 vehicles ordered, 115 will be delivered to Denmark, 50 to Sweden, and 40 to Ukraine, the Swedish government said. The contract with BAE Systems Hägglunds AB is worth $2.3 billion, to be financed with funds previously donated by Sweden and Denmark, it said. #military #defense #defenseindustry #security #sweden #denmark #cv90

91% of Ski-habilitation week Veterans are now in some kind of occupation, training or employment. 61% of Ski-habilitation week Veterans are now in full time employment. On medical discharge from the Armed Forces, many personnel can feel that this is the end of the road for them. It can feel like there isn't much hope or much chance for a new and positive career change. But these figures show otherwise.
