📣 Pilot Testing: Academy of Entrepreneurship, Greece 📣 We are thrilled to share the latest progress on our pilot testing with local trainers of immigrants and newcomers in EU. The materials for the pilot included a Welcome Package, a Train-The-Trainer Manual 1 and 2, prepared by Desinova Studios. Academy of Entrepreneurship (AKEP.EU) received valuable feedback from trainers and participants, and here are some insights from the event: 🔹 Welcome Package The participants in the pilot evaluated that tailoring the welcome package to different contexts and target groups is crucial for its effectiveness. While it may work well for people in closed facilities, it requires significant changes when targeting asylum seekers in urban areas. Regular updates are also necessary due to changing support mechanisms. Additionally, considering the actual needs of the recipients is essential, as some elements, like yoga, might not be meaningful to them. The participants concluded that in closed facilities, the tailored package can serve as an induction tool, fostering relationships and attracting residents to participate in workshops. For immigrants, it can provide a sense of inclusion and support, ultimately assisting trainers in their roles. 🔹 Train-the-Trainer Manual 1 The train-the-trainer manual 1 was perceived generally clear and self-explanatory. Considering the target audience's potential trauma, extending the workshop to two days and allocating more time for reflection was seen as beneficial. The "mingle" social experience may also be challenging for individuals with potential trauma. 🔹 Train-the-Trainer Manual 2 The self-explanatory nature of the 2-hour workshop program and immigrant-tailored instructions was perceived as sufficient. For experienced trainers, the instructions may not be necessary, as they follow a typical process when working with refugees. However, for inexperienced trainers, the instructions can be useful. Different migrant groups may have different rights depending on their legal status and country of origin. For immigrants, the tailored package offers an alternative pathway to prepare for accessing services in the new host country. Trainers will find the elaborated toolkit and ready-made handouts helpful in providing templates and addressing individual questions effortlessly. 🔹 Train-the-Trainer Manual 1 The program was perceived as generally self-explanatory. The participants suggested adding checklists for a quick overview. It would also be beneficial to adapt the manual and include any new developments. To fully assess the program's effectiveness, it was agreed that more time is needed to observe the results of its implementation. 🔹 Train-the-Trainer Manual 2 The details provided in the manual are very helpful. However, the effectiveness of the program can only be confirmed after the workshop, as it requires more time to see the results. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) could be valuable in measuring its impact. Empowering Africa's Future: The Role of Tech Education in Transforming Young Minds In today’s rapidly evolving tech world, Africa finds itself at a critical juncture. The future success of our continent depends on our ability to equip young people with the right skills, mindsets, and opportunities to participate in the global tech ecosystem. This is where initiatives like TECH DAD come into play, shaping not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the innovators, creators, and problem-solvers the world will come to rely on. TECH DAD, a pioneering tech camp for boys aged 6 to 15, aims to bridge the gap between exposure and mastery. With programs tailored for beginners, intermediates, and advanced learners, we're fostering a peer-driven learning environment that resonates deeply with the youth. As my own sons, Dante and Jason, teach and learn alongside their peers, I’m reminded daily of the untapped potential within our young minds. Our focus is clear—leveraging technology to build confidence, instill curiosity, and ignite a passion for innovation. We are not only training boys to understand and use technology but also helping them become contributors to the digital economy. From creating simple games to mastering animation, our camp equips young boys with the tools they need to succeed in a tech-driven world. But why is this important? Because Africa's future is digital, and it is imperative that we prepare our youth to not only consume technology but to create it. The TECH DAD initiative is about giving them the skills, networks, and vision to dream beyond borders, achieve their goals, and discover new paths in life. Our focus on upskilling Africa’s youth ties directly into my broader mission at Get Global by TeleSoftas—to connect African talent with global opportunities, driving sustainable economic growth. Through these initiatives, we are playing our part in ensuring that Africa is not left behind in the global tech race. We are preparing a generation that will thrive in the face of technological advancement, and the ripple effect will be felt across industries, communities, and the world at large.
