😄 Oooh, this is too good to miss. Another pub conversation. This time Scottish gritters (they have lots)… If you go to the Traffic Scotland website, you’ll find a map showing you the current location of every gritter in Scotland. Good idea. But there’s a wordy twist to this… They’ve all got fabulous names 😂 My favourites are: ❄️ Double Snow 7 ❄️ Skid Vicious ❄️ Spready Mercury It takes grit management to a whole new level. And what a great writing gig to get. I mean, I used to think coming up with paint names would be the dream project, but gritter names? That’s something else. So, tell me, what names would you give English gritters (given this trend hasn't traveled south of the border - as far as I know)? Perhaps we should start a naming campaign 🤔 PS. The link to Traffic Scotland’s map is in the comments. #ContentWriter #Copywriter #DreamWritingGigs 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 🙋♀️ I’m Anna, an experienced B2B, SaaS, and tech content writer 🔔 Follow me for friendly content marketing advice and random insights ☎️ Book a 20-minute chat to discuss ramping up your long-form content

I made a mistake. A big one, too! And honestly… I’m glad I did. 😄 You see, I mostly follow Joe Sugarman’s work and principles. Why? Because that’s where I see myself. These principles define me as a person. I can’t write for something I don’t believe in. I like to help… that’s MY thing. And honesty is #1 for me. ☝🏻 But some of the other stuff you’ll find on the net… You know, the sales letters to study… Well, let’s just say that those “snake oil salesmen” are all blocked on my list. But not for long. Let me explain. You see, for a long time, I thought that Eugene Schwartz was one of them. I was such an idiot 🤦🏻♂️ I merely looked at his headlines and decided that “no, not for me.” I never really read his stuff. I was a mere copy cub and really shot myself in the foot with that decision. However, now I know that he was a genius👌🏻 He, too, was truly one of the greats. Just yesterday I was watching his Rodale lecture. As soon as he explained what each element in an ad is supposed to do… It clicked! 🌟 I’ve kept myself away from some of the best stuff out there. But not anymore. From now on, I’ll check everything that comes my way—whether I like the writer or not. And I urge you to do the same. You never know which angle could be helpful for your next piece. Better yet, you might find your next copy hero 😉 (Oh yeah, the answer is simple, by the way. Every element in an ad is meant to get you to read the next thing. Just as Joe Sugarman preached!) Thanks for reading. Enjoyed it? Drop a like 👍 Who are your copywriting heroes/idols? Let me know down below 👇

Cliches in content are so cringe 😬 Like what? 😖 In a nutshell 🤢 Miss the boat 🥴 Tip of the iceberg 😱 On the same page 😠 Out of the blue 🤯 Light at the end of the tunnel 😟 At the end of the day Unless you’re literally writing about nuts in a nutshell or missing a boat or the light at the end of an actual tunnel—don’t do it! Choose better words that accurately convey the message you want to communicate. Your content will be much, much clearer and resonate more strongly with your audience. What cliches bug you the most? Share your language pet peeves 👇 #contentcreation #wordchoice #cringe
