One of the hardest things to let go of as an entrepreneur 👇 The drive to be perfect. In fact, perfectionism is one of the main reasons why people never get started in business despite having a great idea! At KBDI, we teach our interns that ACTION is more important than perfection. Perfectionism only leads to procrastination, indecision, and non-action. All of our interns pitch their business ideas even if they don't feel 100% ready. It’s better to get something out there that is good enough rather than never release it all because you are trying to make it perfect.

Not all lessons come from textbooks or classrooms. Life itself is one of the greatest teachers, offering us valuable insights through every challenge and success we encounter. In my journey, the most profound lessons have come from real-life experiences—the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, the resilience needed in the real estate market, and the importance of staying adaptable in an ever-changing world. What possessed me to start an "education company" when I wasn't an "educator" 😵💫 I must have lost my mind 🤯 This photo was taken back in 2017 when we ran (what could have been) our first Ultra Education C.I.C teaching training day at Newman Catholic College in my home town of Harlesden, NW10 I had a moment of inspiration 6 months before and nailed what would become our pedadogy; the educational philosophy behind how we would go on to deliver entrepreneurship education ©️ The problem was ⬇️ 1️⃣ Had no idea how hard the journey was going to be 2️⃣ Wasn't prepared for the 10 rejections it took to get 1 yes 3️⃣ I didn't realise there was a new language I had to learn - that of education, another for social impact and yet another in local government 4️⃣ Those who won 'grants' or 'bids' weren't necessarily the best at 'the work' but were the best at writing winning bids for 'the work' 🤦🏽♂️ KMT (🇯🇲) 5️⃣ There was a whole new set of skills I needed to go from starting a business to scaling one (...and still learning) But I also didn't realise ⬇️ 👉🏽 No matter how hard things became, giving up just wasn't an option 👉🏽 The inspiration I would feel from seeing kids develop into entrepreneurs was genuinely life changing (for me!) 👉🏽 That others who came along for the ride were just as inspired as I was 👉🏽 The 'mission' became bigger than me (which gave me and still does, the greatest satisfation in the world) 👉🏽 "Doing Good" was just as important as "Doing Well" I finally realised, and it's something we share with our young entrepreneurs - Just because you don't have experience of an industry, it doesn't mean you can't start a business in that industry ✅️ People don't disrupt industries or solve problems they don't care about. And that's the beginning of my story 📖 Ultra and Out 😉
