Together with the Pioneers of F1 Hybrid Strawberries, Limgroup works to bring this transition coming alive. One of the Pioneers in this transition is Van den Elzen Plants. In close cooperation with Gipmans Young Plants and Van der Avoird Trayplant BV, they are working to define the optimal young plant, raised from Limgroup's F1 Hybrid Strawberries. 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝘆𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗸’𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁🐟📈🦾 Ryfisk, a subsidiary of MOWI, is one of the leading salmon producers in Norway. The company has been working with NIRAS since mid-90’, when the initial contact was made to assist in developing Ryfisk’s plant into a modern salmon producing facility. Masterplan + expertise = optimal solution NIRAS and Ryfisk adopted a masterplan approach, which involved the client and their expectations for sales and production. The masterplan formed a solid tool for developing the plant, keeping focus on the final goal. In the process, Ryfisk had the advantage of NIRAS's combined expert knowledge on processing, hygiene, internal logistics, buildings and supply plants, which together form a 3D approach to planning a processing plant. There’s a growing desire from consumers to know where their food comes from and the processes it goes through. At Danfood Technology we’ve tried to help shine a light on the misconceptions when it comes to meat processing by sharing videos of the equipment we supply in action. That’s why it’s good to see the government launching a consultation that proposes to add ‘method of production’ labelling on pork and chicken. The new labelling should make the origin of food, and the processes it has gone through, more transparent – so if an animal has been reared abroad but processed in the UK, it will be made clearer to the consumer. There’s also a proposal to extend this to restaurant menus so diners know the origin of what they’re tucking into.  Giving people more information so they can make better decisions about what they eat should, ultimately, benefit all of us in the meat industry.
