Help me settle a debate among friends - College Degree, or Years of Experience? Which one holds more weight in hiring today? In staffing, I've seen excellent candidates bring one or the other, and they both bring value. To me a degree shows knowledge, while experience shows how you apply it. Drop your thoughts in the comments below 👇 Disclaimer - This doesn't apply to highly specialized fields. (Law, medicine, etc.) #hiring #debate #futureofwork #talentacquisition #jobmarket

College athletes make top-tier candidates for medical device sales Ever wondered why college athletes excel in demanding sales roles? Here's why: As a former college basketball player and now a recruiter, I've seen firsthand how the discipline, resilience, and teamwork honed on the court translate seamlessly into the fast-paced world of medical device sales. These athletes are already trained to perform under pressure, adapt quickly to new strategies, and thrive in competitive environments. 🏀College athletes are also adept at handling setbacks and bouncing back—essential traits when facing the inevitable challenges of the sales world. ✔ A team-first mentality enables them to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. ✔ A strategic mindset helps them understand intricate product details and tailor pitches effectively. ✔ Resilience and dedication ensure they'll go the extra mile to close deals and exceed expectations. If you're looking for dynamic individuals who embody perseverance and teamwork, college athletes might be a great place to look! Have you worked alongside former athletes in sales? Share your experiences in the comments! Let's discuss! https://lnkd.in/en7E2mY9 #MedicalDevice #SalesRecruitment #CollegeAthletes

I applied a few days ago. I was surprised by today's quick pre-interview screening call, which provided additional details about the position. Providing further information helps the candidate make informed decisions about participation in the interview process. Such calls save time for both parties, as interview preparation is complex for both sides. You are hired by the organization and its culture, not by people; organizational culture matters.
The Upper Grand Family Health Team is hiring a Manager of Quality & Programs. Interested candidates are asked to submit your resume and letter of intent to careers@uppergrandfht.org. For further information please see the detailed posting: https://lnkd.in/d2AVfetY

I'm considering hiring an experienced higher education executive for a 4-9 month "Executive in Residence" contract opportunity to work with me and the Campus Sonar team during a growth period for the business. The focus would be on working with c-suite and executive leaders on new business opportunities (i.e., sales), and building additional executive engagement capacity in our client services team. I'm putting out some feelers because I know the people who are interested in such an opportunity may not be public about it, and I'm currently in the exploratory phase as I consider what the evolution of marketing/sales looks like in the business. If you think you could rock this or have thoughts/advice, send me a message here (or my email is in my bio). I'm thinking a successful Executive in Residence will check 3 or more of these boxes: -You've worked at the cabinet level for 5+ years -You have multi-functional higher education experience and insight -You've worked on/with multiple campus types -You've held a leadership position with revenue-related goals and have a history of attaining them. -You have availability to devote approximately 20-30 hours per week to the role. -You're available to travel 1-3 times per month as needed -You see the value of social intelligence to help higher ed organizations thrive amidst shifting demographics and declining public trust Thanks in advance for your help as I determine if this is the right move for me/us right now, and for sharing with people in your network who may be interested or helpful!

Question for Medical Recruiters and Hiring Managers: My son is eager to enter Medical Sales right after graduating in 2025 with both his Diploma and an Associates degree. I'm pondering whether investing time and resources in Medical Sales College is worthwhile. Would this specialized training offer more advantages compared to completing a traditional 4-year degree and delaying 2 years of practical work experience? Appreciate your valuable insights. #MedicalSales #Recruiters #CareerAdvice

Why isn’t there a push to get more young people into Tech Sales? 🤔 A career as a doctor, lawyer, or engineer is always promoted as being a lucrative career path for young people but never sales! However, Tech Sales can be just as rewarding (if not more), yet it’s rarely promoted... Why is that? Here are a few reasons I believe: ➡ Lack of Awareness Sales careers aren’t pushed by the school system. Schools focus more on academic paths, and students often aren’t aware of how lucrative sales can be. ➡ Cultural Perception Medicine and law have been seen as prestigious for centuries. Sales, on the other hand, is often misunderstood or seen as short-term. ➡ Tech Career Focus When tech careers are discussed, it’s usually about coding or engineering. Sales roles, which drive company growth, are often overlooked. It seems crazy to me as Tech sales is one of the fastest-growing and best paid industries in the UK!! Personally it's something I wish I'd known about when I was younger as its a career path I definitely would have looked to pursue! What do you think?
