After taking some time off to reflect and prepare for the next chapter in my career, I’ve decided to take the plunge into the world of freelance! This is hilarious and also hits the nerves in the right place. David M. Ogilvy said: 'Why keep a dog and bark yourself?' However, people love to dominate, no matter how full they are of self-doubt. Art professionals working at agencies and freelancers experience a slow death of creativity every day. People with no sense of aesthetics or functional design dictate the terms and choose the colour palettes. They’re expected to be available 24/7 and are often paid less than businesspeople (in most cases). Clients should realise more changes means less heart from the creative person. #Why #kill #a #good #creative?

A runaway project is a nightmare for everyone involved. 😫 As designers, keeping a creative project on track is the ultimate goal, but sometimes, things get out of control. A typical creative project requires multiple rounds of review to ensure it is completed correctly. However, you can take certain steps to speed up the sign-off and approval process. Here are five things that helped me get client approval without getting stuck in endless rounds of approvals: 1. Set reasonable expectations and milestones. This will help them to budget their time and avoid any surprises. 2. Understand what's important to each stakeholder. This will help you create relevant and valuable work for them. 3. Involve and educate your client from the start. The earlier you involve your client in the process, the more likely you will get their buy-in and avoid any surprises later on. 4. Implement a feedback loop. This will show them that you're listening and that you value their input. 5. Thoroughly explain why you did what you did. This will help to build trust and rapport with your client. Dealing with endless approval loops can be tiring and time-consuming in creative projects.
