In 2023, CANOC signed an Agreement with UWI that enhances our collective endeavour to better serve our Caribbean region through sport, building upon the foundations of our rich sporting legacy, and firmly committed to regional integration as an imperative. For far too long sport and academia have been separated in our region, to the detriment of our individual and collective sport development. CANOC’s intention is to deepen our relations, enhance our collaboration with UWI, through the Faculty of Sport and the relevant Academies in the critically important areas of research, capacity building, athlete engagement and region-specific strategic sport development initiatives. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/e_rYBNJp

Despite what we have been told, competition is a lie. You are not racing against anyone. We are all on our own distinct path. So if you find yourself feeling like you are competing with or comparing yourself to someone else, stop and recenter yourself. Everyone's timing and path are different. So instead of comparing yourself to someone else, compare how you're showing up today to how you were yesterday, last week or last year. #BTBS #beyondthebusinesssuit #competition

Loved writing this piece & sharing some thoughts on #intled & sports. https://lnkd.in/eAYtqgxK My own winding international experiences involve global diplomacy & international relations, World Expo 2010 Shanghai, London 2012 Olympics & Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and working with international students in the U.S. & abroad since my days as an undergraduate. Having an opportunity to bring together these academic & professional passions is a joy.
With the 2024 Olympics right around the corner, it is fitting to explore the linkage between sports and international education in light of the argument that the Olympics are the largest international exchange program in the world. The latest #NAFSA Trends and Insight “Breaking Records and Building Bridges” by Shanna Saubert explores this very subject. Happy reading! #Olympics #InternationalEducation #NAFSA https://lnkd.in/ewWQzFq4

Prioritising wellbeing is essential for sustained success. Each week, allocate time to engage in activities that spark joy. Even after all these years, my passion for coaching cricket remains unwavering. #wellbeing #teacherwellbeing #passion #coaching #leadership #worklifebalance #schoolleadership
At MPAC, we're always exploring innovative ways to inspire our students. One such initiative is our Principal Mr Darren Cox stepping up to coach the cricket team. This unique experience is not just about teaching the sport, but about fostering core values that will benefit our students throughout their lives. We are creating lasting memories and valuable lessons for our students, shaping them into well-rounded individuals who live with passion and purpose, love Christ and others, and lead with excellence and integrity. #Teamwork #Engagement #JoyfulLearning #LiveLoveLead #MPACCricket #mpac #impactingtheworld

Who would’ve thought #LGPS governance could draw parallels with the Olympics? At first glance, the two might seem worlds apart, but in his recent blog, Alan Johnson explores how the rigorous standards and structured training of Olympic athletes can be applied to LGPS governance. Our LGPS National Knowledge Assessment will be going live mid-September, but there's still time to sign up: https://okt.to/fTRU6F
