Being an entrepreneur starts early at Gilmour Academy.
Such a great morning talking entrepreneurship with students from Gilmour Academy participating in a 3-day immersive “Shark Tank” pitch competition experience. I loved hearing their ideas as their brilliant minds considered how to create businesses and products that solve daily issues or challenges. HUGE thank you to our Cleveland Chain Reaction winners Tina Lattouf Chamoun of Terranean Herbs & Spices, Saidah Farrell of Marshmallow of the Month Club and Chad J. Porter of CHVD JUSTIN who joined us to tell stories of their entrepreneurial journeys, answer the students’ thoughtful questions, and inspire them to think BIG. (Chad missed our picture because like all entrepreneurs, he had to rush to the next meeting. But, the WEARPACK made it into the photo!) Wanna know a secret about entrepreneurship? You won’t know until you try. If there’s one thing our merchants show us every day, it’s that building a business is all about the resilience to keep pushing. It was no different for Denise Woodard when she started Partake Foods. Starting and running a new business from the ground up meant trying something new, facing challenges, learning, and trying again until she ultimately hit her stride.

Staying the Course In the vast ocean of entrepreneurship, it's not uncommon for us sea-cruising entrepreneurs to drift off course occasionally. Whether it's unscheduled stops or turbulent waters that lead us astray, what matters most is our ability to chart a path back. Just as a seasoned captain navigates through the fog by trusting their compass, we must trust in our vision and values to steer us back on course. Let this be a reminder: A detour need not define our journey, but how we return to our route can. Together, let's set our sights on the horizon, adjust our sails to the changing winds, and move forward with confidence and purpose. Here's to finding our way back to the waters where we thrive.

Excuse me, but I need to know where July ran off to? The end of the month is always a great time to reflect and celebrate our wins while looking forward to the future. For us on the entrepreneurial journey, each month definitely brings its own lessons and wins. This month, I've been reminded how important it is to step back every once in a while. Stepping back and taking some time really opens up space to not only see what I've accomplished but also to enjoy the fruits of such hard work. For me personally, it also sparks so many creative ideas I never would have thought of if I just worked worked worked all of the time. This month, I've also been inspired by the incredible resilience and vibrant spirit that fuels us Latina entrepreneurs. It's the passion that wakes us up in the morning and the tenacity that keeps us going long after the sun has set. What about you? What has July taught you about your journey, your business, or yourself? P.S. August, we're coming for you! #EmpoweredLatinas #FirstGenLatinas #FirstGenSuccess #LatinaAmbassadors #LatinaAmbition #LatinaBoss #LatinaBusinessOwners #LatinaCEO #LatinaChangemakers #LatinaCoaches #LatinaCollaboration #LatinaCommunity #LatinaCreatives #LatinaDreamers #LatinaDreams #LatinaElevate #LatinaEmpires #LatinaEmpowerment #LatinaEntrepreneurialJourney #LatinaEntrepreneurs #LatinaEntrepreneurship #LatinaFocus #LatinaGoals #LatinaGrowth #LatinaHustle #LatinaInnovation #LatinaInnovators #LatinaInspiration #LatinaJourney
