How did I save more than $500 while applying for graduate programs? 💸🎓 I know from experience that applying for master’s or PhD programs can be expensive. Some of the fees include: - Application fees - GRE fees - Sending GRE scores to universities - TOEFL/IELTS fees - Sending TOEFL/IELTS scores to universities - International credential evaluation for US universities - Sending evaluation reports to universities - Requesting for transcripts from previous universities BUT I discovered some amazing fee-saving hacks along the way! Here’s how you can save too: - Many universities waive the application fee if you attend their admissions webinars. - Some programs, though limited, don’t charge application fees at all. - Certain universities waive the application fee if you need an international credential evaluation. - Some universities only require you to send TOEFL/IELTS scores after you’ve been offered admission and accepted the offer. Follow for more tips on applying for master’s or PhD programs and make your journey more affordable and successful! 🚀 #GradSchool #PhDApplications #MasterPrograms #HigherEducation #Scholarships #ApplicationTips #EducationConsulting https://lnkd.in/dF737eri

Thinking about how to finance your studies abroad? Here are top 5 strategies I’ve learned over the past three years: 1. Scholarships & Grants: Depending on your eligibility, you can apply for the Eiffel Scholarship in France and the DAAD Scholarship in Germany. 2. Student Loans: I secured a loan from an Indian bank at an interest rate of 10%. I obtained a loan from a French bank at a 3% interest rate for my second year. TIP: I requested my mentor at ESCP to be my guarantor. 3. University Financial Aid: Many universities offer tuition waivers and merit-based scholarships. Make sure to explore the financial aid options at your chosen institution. 4. Part-Time Work: I worked as a student in Berlin to cover my living expenses. In France, you can apply for apprenticeship programs where employers pay for your tuition fees. 5. Budget Tips: In France, you can apply for a housing allowance and access free public health benefits. Some organizations provide free groceries to students. TIP: I stayed at CIUP, an affordable student accommodation option in Paris, and had an amazing experience. Combining these methods can significantly help manage your expenses. This post for recent graduates by Liv Collins got me thinking. With life’s twists and turns, we can find ourselves starting over at any age and asking the same question, often more than once. Liv’s advice is applicable at any time and here are the 5 tips I added. They are all things I learned years after graduating, wish I’d known or applied sooner and still hold true for me today. 1. Learn about personal finance. We’re not taught how to manage our money and it’s a critical skill. 💷 2. In any job, listen and watch for people with attitudes and discipline that you admire. Emulate their behaviour. Don’t share too much of your personal life and steer clear of gossip. 🙊 3. Remember that every single job teaches you something. Learn to see the value, meaning and dignity in your work. Do your best to be a ‘linchpin’ (see book by Seth Godin). 📍 4. Comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t worry if others seem to have it all figured out or are doing amazing things. You’re not doing those things because it’s not your path. Focus on your own story, your own skills, interests and dreams. Enjoy the process of becoming. It’s wild, scary and beautiful! 🌷 5. In hard times, nourish yourself. Eat well, prioritise sleep, get outside and do some form of physical activity every day. Listen to positive affirmations, choose uplifting books, music and TV, and spend time with people who want to make your flame bigger, not snuff it out (see Brené Brown). 🔥 And if you’re struggling, ask for help. It’s all going to be okay. ❤️ What would you tell a recent graduate or someone starting over? 💡 #graduates #personalfinance #comparison

After graduating uni in 2021 ~ I had a lil existential crisis. I had no idea what to do next. Or where to live. Or how to balance my art practice with the real world !! Reality came ✨crashing✨ down So here are 5 things I wish I'd known as a recent grad: 1) There's no rush to do anything - truly 2) Lean into the existentialism! Really thinking through what you want to do + where you want to go can feel confusing - but it's so important if you want to live a life that feels *aligned* with you x 3) Going back to work in hospitality isn't a step backwards <3 4) Rejections are a HUGE part of being a creative out in the real world. They're not personal + they create space for the next great thing 5) You don't need to have it all figured out. Trust your intuition + make it up as you go xx --- p.s what else would you add to this list? 🤝 (image credit: Slyvanian graduation from pinterest - graphics by me x) #grad #uni #creative

You might have heard the term "brag sheet" thrown around when applying to colleges. But what is it? Why is it useful? Let's break it down! What is a brag sheet? 🤔 A brag sheet is document where you list all your achievements, activities, awards, and other notable accomplishments. It's essentially a summary of your high school career, highlighting your strengths and the things you're most proud of. Why do I need one?📝 Students often use brag sheets to help them fill out college applications, and they might also share them with teachers or counselors who are writing letters of recommendation to ensure that the recommenders have a good understanding of the student's accomplishments and can write a more personalized letter. What should be included in it?❓ There's several things that you should include in your brag sheet so that your recommenders can get a comprehensive scope of your character: Academic honors: GPA, class rank, AP classes. Extracurriculars: Clubs, sports, leadership roles. Volunteer work: hours logged, service projects. Awards: Scholarships, competition placement. Skills: Languages spoken, special talents, hobbies #admissions #co27 #co28 #college #collegeconsultant #ivyleague #collegeconsulting #collegehelp #collegeadmissions
