LUNA's very own Josh Sharma recently facilitated an incredible webinar with Maxine Minter of Co Ventures, Tom Smalley of Skalata, and Matt Vitale of Birchal on Navigating the Funding Landscape. Here are a few key takeaways, just in case you missed it: ⭐️ Great founders and founding teams sway early-stage investment decision-making, whether via CSF or more traditional startup investment. ⭐️ For founders, there's a tension between having strong conviction and being coachable. Have conviction and don't be a pushover at the first piece of investor advice you get, but make sure you're open to testing new ideas or ways of thinking that might challenge your views. ⭐️ Investors are excited about AI but don't need to see it in your business model. It represents a huge shift, so while there's nothing wrong with traditional business fundamentals, ensure you've integrated it into your ops at the very least. To watch the full webinar, head to our YouTube channel: https://lnkd.in/ejKf82a2 Looking to dive deeper? We're hosting a 'Get Investment Ready' workshop tomorrow with Josh Sharma and Brinley Meagher, aimed to give founders the tools and skills required to get investment ready and avoid common pitfalls in the investment process. Not to start any trouble... but I'm incredibly bullish on the future of venture capital. The next generation of General Partners is already here, and they're sharing some phenomenal insights and advice. I want to give a shoutout to a few of my peers who are dropping serious knowledge bombs in the VC world (and I'm sure I'm going to miss a few but I will add those folks in the comments). Shoutout to Santosh Sankar for consistently sharing cutting-edge trends and actionable insights for those who are students of the VC game. Jackie DiMonte and Mercedes Bent are must-follows for their deep dives into market dynamics and startup founder growth strategies. If you haven't checked out Vanessa Larco's posts yet, you're missing out on some serious wisdom about scaling and investment strategies. And Jason Shuman, your content on navigating the complexities of VC is pure gold. But it's not just these folks. There are so many others out there who are shaping the future of our industry with their thought leadership and practical advice. If you're a young VC, a founder hustling to get your startup off the ground, or one of my favorite people—allocators (cc: Swimming with Allocators)—make sure you're following these brilliant minds. Their time isn't next, it's now. The insights they're sharing are not just relevant, they're game-changing. So, tag your favorite GPs in the comments who are sharing the best advice and content on here. Let's give credit where it's due and amplify the voices that are shaping the future of venture capital. #VentureCapital #FutureOfVC #thePresentOFVC #Allocators #Founders #YoungVCs #NextGenGPs #ThoughtLeadership #Innovation

Thoughtful reporting, as always, by Erin Griffith at The New York Times. This one sentence blew my mind and illustrates just how far VC has matured and grown, along with the rest of the tech industry: "Last year, venture capital managed $1.1 trillion, up from $297 billion in 2013, according to PitchBook, which tracks start-ups." How VC firms define and brand themselves [in order to compete to back the best tech entrepreneurs, and hence generate financial returns] has certainly morphed in the last two decades. But perhaps it's a natural evolution? Will be interesting to see what happens next.... https://lnkd.in/gZsm5EmS
