Meta’s new AI ad tools promise better engagement—but let’s face it, it will come at a price. Flashy AI content looks great, but the question remains: will AI-driven ads convert casual viewers into lifelong customers? Meta reports a 7.6% conversion lift for ads using these tools, but do we have stats that show how it builds real brand loyalty? Honestly speaking, that’s what I’m concerned about. Attention is not retention. Here’s why I’m skeptical: • 53% of users click when influencers promote a product, but that doesn’t mean they’ll stay loyal to the brand. • AI-driven ads lack a personal touch—something customers crave. People today have an acute BS radar; they seek real connections, not “perfect” AI-generated ads. Instead of relying solely on AI, brands need PR strategies that make them relatable. A strong Anti-PR strategy that involves real humans, real stories, and real flaws… something people can relate to. And use AI to amplify these ads while keeping the brand’s voice real and raw. That’s what creates a winning strategy in 2024. https://hubs.la/Q02YsCZ70 Are you a Founder looking to Disrupt your industry in the smartest way? We can help. Despite being out of work for almost a full year now, I have been very diligent in keeping my skills fresh and staying up to date on industry trends. One of the ways I have continued to do this is by attending ADWEEK Webinar events like this recent one hosted by Dash Hudson on the Social Marketer’s AI Implementation Playbook. It was such an informative and thoughtful conversation on how brands and social media professionals can leverage AI to optimize content creation, production workflows, and build greater connections with their audiences. Here are my three big takeaways: 1. The development of virtual influencers. Brands like Samsung, Lenovo, and Adidas have used AI to create an almost human-like influencer to promote their products and grow engagement and brand sentiment with their consumers. It is an interesting trend that could lead to more hyper-personalized content marketing. It was also interesting to hear that Instagram has already verified 35 of these virtual influencers. 2. Experiment and Play. While there have been some negative sentiments about AI and its potential impact on society at-large, utilizing AI does have a lot of benefits. One of the panel participants discussed how AI has helped him manage his time and projects more efficiently, from transcribing important calls with key stakeholders to reformatting content for different distribution channels and conducting analyses on best-performing versus worst-performing content. Over the past several months, I have played around with ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini AI. While I am still very much a novice at employing AI, I look forward to continuing to learn its intricacies and put it to good use in my next role. 3. Leverage community and user-generated content. Authenticity still matters, perhaps more than ever before. One of the speakers noted how social media strategy has gradually shifted from being follower-driven to content-driven. An example case study involved Clinique and how they took advantage of a legacy product’s viral TikTok moment. Clinique found social media users who were creating content consuming their product and used AI to determine which type of content would perform best. They were able to overcome the hurdle of not having “fresh” or approved assets to post content that was relevant and highly engaging with their community/audience. I do not see the user-generated content trend slowing down anytime soon. That said, I believe continuing to evolve and stay informed of the latest trends across social media and digital marketing can enable me to make an immediate impact and hit the ground running on day 1. I am ready to help your brand or organization take its digital growth to the next level and invite you to reach out to me to learn more about the value I feel I would bring to your team.

🌐 The Future of Social Media: Less Real, More... Generated? 🤖✨ Mark Zuckerberg recently shared that Meta plans to flood our feeds with AI-generated content—a supposed "next big thing" that's anything but. First, social platforms connected us with friends 👥. Then, they connected us with influencers 📸. Now? They’re gearing up to connect us with bots 🤖, algorithms, and a feed filled with things no one actually asked for. Are you ready for a world where an AI-generated influencer tells your kids what to buy 💸, how to think 🤔, or what’s "cool"? All while data-hungry algorithms extract every ounce of engagement from us, leaving behind a landscape of synthetic influencers and curated content that panders to ad dollars 💰. Meta’s Llama model is pushing the envelope on AI tools, but is this "innovation" or just another way to profit off our attention? 📈 As AI-generated nonsense clogs up our screens, ad companies like Meta are ensuring technology serves greed, not good. Imagine a world where an AI-generated OnlyFans influencer convinces your child to "befriend" a chatbot, pulling them further into isolation 🥀. Satire? Not really—it’s already here, as highlighted by several news articles on a tragic story involving a 14-year old and Character.AI. A brave new world indeed, one where “innovation” has traded ethics for engagement. There are several amazing use cases for Gen AI. This is not one of them.🚩🚨 Because, who needs real human connections when your feed is filled with fake food 🍕, imaginary friends 🤳, and AI slop? 🍽️ I am a big advocate for spending time offline 🧘♂️🌿. Let’s make sure "tech for good" doesn’t become a relic of the past. It is a real dilemma! 💡 What are your thoughts? Feel free to share below! 👇 💭 #meta #ai #socialmedia #innovation #greed #techforgood #instagram #facebook #influencers #ads #content #ethicsinai #technology #genai
