Laws matter for women’s workforce participation and equality! A new study by Yale Economic Growth Center Affiliate Professor Penny Goldberg with co-authors Marie Hyland and Simeon Djankov suggests that increases by only 1 point on the World Bank’s Women, Business and Law index correlates with increases in female labor participation and decreases in gender pay parity.
